We will start our tour by taking the cog train from Montreux to the summit of Rochers-de-Naye mountain, which offers stunning panoramic views on the Lake Geneva and the Alps. We'll continue by having delicious Swiss fondue at an emblematic mountain restaurant that provides the idyllic scenery. Once back in Montreux, we'll continue by the charming lakeside promenade. Montreux is the unofficial capital of Swiss Riviera, an excursion here is a walk in the footsteps of celebrities who lived or visited this place: Freddie Mercury, Vladimir Nabokov, Igor Stravinsky, Henry Nestle are among them. While you'll be enjoying the city's sights, I will be telling interesting stories and anecdots about Swiss Riviera past and present. Upon request, we may visit Queen studio and one charming and famous local confectionery to try the finest Swiss chocolate! *The tour is recommended in good weather condition. **The train tickets should be bought in advance
Your Montreux tour itinerary
1. We meet at Montreux train station (I may also meet with you at your hotel in Lausanne or Montreaux, possibly at an additional cost). 2. We head up to the mountain by cog railway which will take us up to an altitude of around 2,000m (6560 feet). The journey lasts 1 hour one way and on the top we will spent either 1 or 2 hours (the train gets down once per hour). 3. Then we take same train to descend to the most charming restaurant in the region. Staying just above Montreux, it provides with stunning views and absolutely delicious food. The best place to try the famous Swiss fondue! 4. As soon as we are ready to continue, we descend to Montreux for a nice 1-1,5 h city walking tour. 5. In the end of the tour I will accompany you to the Montreux train station and will share with you more ideas of other places to visit in Swiss Riviera region.
