Hola! My name is Debora and I am very excited to show you around in beautiful Asturias! I am from the Netherlands, but married to a Spanish guy. From the moment that he introduced me to his home region Asturias a few years ago I fell in love with the landscape, friendly people and great food, and I am looking forward to share it with you! Since I was a young girl I have been passionate about nature and travelling. Next to my studies in Forestry and Nature Conservation and International Land and Water Management, I have therefore been volunteering as a guide for several Dutch and international organizations, where I primarily focused on showing children and teenagers the beauty of nature. I have visited most European countries as well as spent time in Indonesia, Zambia, Mexico and the USA. These trips allowed me to get to know other cultures and get acquainted with amazing local habits and customs. The inviting and friendly attitude of most of the people that I met in these countries, encourage me to do the same for people wanting to get to know Asturias! I live in Oviedo in the north of Spain since the beginning of 2018. Right from the start, I have explored not only this city but also nearby cities such as Gijon and Aviles, as well as the surrounding countryside. One of the ways the people from Oviedo (Ovetense) like to spend their free time, is to hike, cycle or skate along a so-called 'Senda Verde' (Green Route). Then, they want to relax and have a tasty, big warm lunch. This tour gives you the opportunity to be a real Ovetense by walking a 10k Senda Verde, relaxing in an 18th century Spa and enjoying a typical Asturias 'Menu del Dia'! This tour is perfect for people who like to have an easy walk close to Oviedo and at the same time experience Asturias' countryside. Your Oviedo tour itinerary
- Start in Parque de Invierno in the south of Oviedo - Following an old paved railway line through the Asturian countryside, walking through tunnels and crossing Asturias' most important river, Nalon (10k) - Arrival at the Spa (2. 5 hours time to enjoy its warm water and saunas) - Menu del Dia (three-course menu) in one of the village's restaurants. - Return to Oviedo by private vehicle.
