Sanctuary of Lluc - Full Day

Would you like to discover one of the most special places in Mallorca? This Sanctuary is considered the pilgrimage centre of Mallorca and it is located in Serra de Tramuntana, surrounded by mountains and valleys. According to tradition, a small statue of the Virgin Mary was found by a young shepherd in the mountains where the nowadays basilica is. That's the beginning of this stunning and peaceful area in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. And since the Medieval times has been the meeting point of all Mallorcan's from every corner of the island. It's tradition to walk up to the Sanctuary at least once per year and contemplate the Virgin of Lluc, the patron she-saint of Mallorca.

The sanctuary of Lluc located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana is in the municipality of Escorca. • On the way to the sanctuary, we can contemplate the profile of the mountains and comment on Mallorcan history, traditions and culture. Gradually we will go deeper into the mountains along the winding road, and finally, we will reach the most important pilgrimage centre of Mallorca. • There we can see the main square where the visitor reception centre, the cells for overnight stays, the town hall and the basilica are located. Inside the temple, we can admire the Virgin of Lluc, the coats of arms of all the towns of Mallorca and contemplate the modernist details of the building. • We can also visit the Lluc botanical garden.
