Eastern Algarve Full Day Tour

We recently visited Portugal and had the pleasure of having Rosa show us the Eastern Algarve region. Rosa is a very professional and knowledgeable guide, sharing plenty of information about the region. Rosa is also very quick to adjust our itinerary as one of our friends has a mobility issue and the temperature on the day of our tour is rather high. We told Rosa we would like to see more local cultures and experience some day-to-day activities - Rosa brought us to the local Sunday market in Faro. Rosa seems to know everyone there, interacting with store owners and almost everyone at the market place :) Rosa bought local delicacies for us to try, which we enjoyed thoroughly! Rosa was very accommodating, stopping at various sites so we can take pictures. We asked Rosa where we could go for an authentic Portugese seafood meal and before you know it, she has already made a reservation for us. Rosa helped us with the orders and we were so happy that Rosa joined us for lunch, explaining the various dishes and how it's made. The food was absolutely divine and how we wished we could go back for another meal! On our way back to the hotel, Rosa brought us to the Dona Ana beach so we can take in the magnificient views of the beach, the rock formations and the sea!! We will definitely recommend touring with Rosa if you visit Lagos/Faro.

We have taken several excellent tours with Tours by Locals, and this tour - with Rosa as our guide - is definitely one of the best! Rosa is a gem! She is SO knowledgeable about the area, is very responsive to requests and questions, maintains an enthusiasm throughout, and, by the end of the day, feels like a friend you've known for years. This Eastern Algarve tour covers a lot of territory, and Rosa added a few places we hadn't expected to see (i.e. Loule, which is a lovely town). She gave us a good walking tour of the historical center of Faro, selected a favorite restaurant for lunch in Cacela Velha, and drove us to beaches and parks that her family has frequented for years. We felt like we got a lovely, personal tour of the area, with lots of information about the history, culture, food, geography, and agriculture of the Eastern Algarve. We would do this tour again - so much to see!

This was our second tour with Rosa and we did enjoy it, seeing different communities along the southern coastline, right up to the border with Spain. We had a fabulous lunch at in Olhao at Restaurante Horta, authentic Portuguese food - it was delicious. I would highly recommend this tour with Rosa.

Rosa is a fantastic guide. She knows the Algarve so well she designed and deliver the trip we desired. My husband and I wanted to see the Algarve east to west. We hired Rosa for two days where she not only provided excellent guiding services, she also transported us to stay in three cities during our six day visit between Spain, Lisbon and beyond. She made lodging, restaurant and activty recommendations that were perfect. She is so knowledgeable and fun. We saw so much and had a great experience.
