I say building because a guide is like a walking encyclopedia, and we have to be constantly updated. I love the privacy of small groups, no doubt. On my tours you'll be comfortably seated on my own van, air conditioned, fully insured, and legally allowed to be with you everywhere in the country, outside and also inside the monuments. Only official guides can do so! And besides, a van can go to many places totally inaccessable by bus. However, may you need a guide and a coach for a bigger group over 7 people and I sure will provide you other transportation from 14 seater to 55!It is only a matter of availability and budget. My tours are designed to offer private versions of any of the trips available in Portugal or can be tailored to create a unique and very personal travel experience. Overview of your Faro tour
If there is a popular town in Algarve bustling with energy, color and history its name is Loulé! We got to do it walking together! It is, yes, a ''must see'' town!! I invite you to become an insider and trough my eyes visit not only the market but also meet a few people who have been helped by the Municipality on a project which focuses the valorization of identity: the artisans. This project supports the training and activity of artisans and aims to keep traditional arts alive. The palm weaving, the art of hammering the copper in order to make cataplanas but also pieces with an innovative mark; a traditional old pottery where clay is moulded and shaped, are just some of the workshops I show you on an interesting guided walking tour. Time for a cofee and a local cake is part of the experience.
Your Faro tour itinerary
First we'll be starting by the visit to the iconic market place: just magestic this 112 years old building housing 29 shops and 90 stalls! I intend to introduce you to some interesting people selling figs, almonds and carobs or cakes made with them. Also chocolatiers, spcice and thea sellars are delighted to teach you a lot on this field. Then, the artisans. Difficult to find so much art together, believe me. There is a dynamic and attractive range of creative experiences that will put you in touch with the unique aspects of our regional identity and heritage: clay, palm leaves, copper, wood are just some of the materials coming out of the hands of the artisans and you will see them at work. And, when you like, sacred art can be added to the tour because it is precious. Great places to have lunch if you decide to stay longer.
