Welcome in the most southern part of The Netherlands, very near to the Belgium and German border. I am born and raised in Maastricht, as a son of a brewer. So, a real local who knows how pleasant live is in the historical and vibrant city of Maastricht. Graduated at the Tilburg and Rotterdam University, but now retired and happy to show people the city, that I appreciate. Of course I know all the hidden gems and I can also give you an advice about restaurants and pubs. It is a privilege to live in this beautiful international region, not only for the landscape of the Limburg hills but also for the German town Aachen ( Charlemagne ) and Belgium town Liege ( Prince-Bishop ). I'm proud to show the region and do also tours in Aachen and Liege. And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote. I'm an experienced tour guide for more as 5 years in different languages and different historical towns. I have no license to give tours inside the limestone caves.

Start in the old industrial quarter of the former ceramic industry of Maastricht at the Eiffel-building ( just 300 meter distance from Market Square ). Pricing is per group (max. 15 pers. per guide ). The tour is excellent for groups, schools, associations. etc. The quarter is now completely redeveloped with charming restaurants, pubs, art-houses, cinemas, terraces, rooftopbar, harbor, coffee-houses, etc. Interesting is the 120 meter long corridor with the history of 170 years of ceramic industry on 30. 000 tiles. The Sphinxkwartier has the ERIH-label ( European Route of Industrial Heritage ). Around the corner is the Frontenpark, 60 - 70 acres of a raw landscape park with the old fortifications and city walls along canals. This park proves that Maastricht was a real stronghold for centuries. During this tour, I will show both areas, the old industrial quarter and the Frontenpark.
Start in the old industrial quarter of the former ceramic industry of Maastricht at the Eiffel-building ( just 300 meter distance from Market Square ). Further to the Bassin-harbour, Lumiere film-arthouse, and Frontenpark. We can finish the tour at the Eiffel-building or at the Vrijthof-square in the city-center. If you like we do a nice coffee-, tea-, beer- or wine-break in a pub or on a terrace in summer. The tour can be customized to your wishes with a visit to a historic brewery or winery ( including tasting ), enjoying traditional Limburg pie ( vlaai ) in de Bisschopsmolen. Please feel free to contact me with your questions.
