Hi, I would be happy to guide you through my hometown Puebla. I'm a Medical Doctor specializing in Ethnomedicine. I research traditional techniques of Aztec medicine and its transformation through the history of Mexico. As part of my specialization, I have been studying the Aztec culture, cosmovision and the colonial & viceregal history of Mexico & Puebla. I have participated as a lecturer in conferences and events in various states of Mexico and abroad, plus I write for international magazines about ethnomedicine and Mexican culture. With me you will discover the most unusual, mysterious, unknown places of Puebla to delight your eyes and your palate for unforgettable memories. I want to bring you closer to all that magic, tradition, and culture that my city offers. And if your interest is focused on highlights, I will make you discover a hidden side of them thanks to my local expertise. I know the mysteries and secrets that those places keep. If you are interested in pre-Hispanic traditions such as temazcals, oracles, rituals, and mysticism, you are with the right person! I collaborate with the line of research on Shamanism and traditions of the Alfonso Vélez Pliego Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities. I will show you how Nahuatl, the language of the Nahuas (The Aztecs), is formed, what they mean, and how Nahuatl is part of the names and meanings of too many places in Puebla, not only prehispanic ones. Nahuatl is a very poetic language! I can also offer a gastronomic discovery to experience the flavours of the poblana cuisine which has been an Intangible World Heritage since 2010 (UNESCO). I will you make experience these unique and sophisticated flavours with a mixture of pre-Hispanic and European ingredients that make it Mexico’s best gastronomic destination. You could taste traditional dishes, drinks, and sacred beverages in places only for connoisseurs as I tell you about the history, ingredients and legends of these dishes, and if you like to cook, ask me for the recipe! Besides all my tours are accompanied by a welcome kit with local products. I only offer private tours. I know by experience that a private tour is the only way to truly learn about a city, a culture, or a country. My tours are tailor-made experiences, and although there is a route you can follow, they will be entirely adapted to suit your preferences. I know how to customize to the unique needs of my travellers and offer them an experience tailored to their tastes and personalities. I'm able to delve deeper into certain subjects or go for more amusing but historical anecdotes. You choose exactly what you want to visit at your own pace with privacy and flexibility. I like to share the knowledge and passion I have for my culture, my country, and my city. I want your experience with me to make you feel that every moment and place is unique and wonderful, plus that in the end, you take a little bit of the heart of Puebla with you. Also, as a health professional, you will always be safe if you have any situation that I should know about or to take care of, as well as any health situation that may arise while we are together. My motto as a guide: More than a tour, an experience. My Credentials -Biomedical Doctor by the BUAP and Physiologist by the Institute of Physiological Sciences of the BUAP. -Collaborator of the Department of Sociocultural Anthropology of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of BUAP. -Teacher of History and Philosophy of Medicine (UVP, USEP) -Nahuatl studies (the Aztec language) in the Academia de Lenguas Clásicas Fray Alonso de la Veracruz -Diploma in First Aid, in force, by Cruz Roja Mexicana Tours Offered: - Pre-Hispanic Archaeology and Beverages. - Mexican Baroque and Baroque Gastronomy - History and Gastronomy of Puebla - Architectural Jewels of the City - Mysteries and secrets of Puebla - Markets and daily life - Wrestling and Contemporary Culture - Pre-Hispanic Temazcal and Wellness Rituals
