I’ll make you discover the Historical Center of Puebla, its colonial history, the Baroque architecture and anecdotes. We’ll visit the majestic Cathedral of Puebla, Mexico’s oldest cathedral, built from 1585 to 1649. You’ll be amazed by the Palafox Library, the first public library in America, founded in 1646 with its collection of 5,348 manuscripts and 800 printed books. I’ll guide you through the Chapel of the Rosary, once known as the “Eighth Wonder of the New World,” built in 1650. We’ll walk down Santa Clara Street, aka the Candy Street. These typical sweets created by nuns are unique for being reinterpretations of Spanish recipes with Mexican ingredients. We’ll climb up to the rooftops of Puebla via a secret access to admire the city from above. We’ll stroll down El Parian, the oldest market of Puebla (1545) and El Barrio del Artista (the artist’s quarter), where you can admire painters in their creative process. You’ll taste an artisanal ice cream in the most famous ice cream parlor of Puebla.
-We’ll visit the Cathedral of Puebla. Marvel at its two 74-meter-high towers and 58 angel statues. -We’ll explore the Palafox Library with its books from the 15th century, covering history, theology, poetry, and more. -We’ll enter the Chapel of the Rosary and admire its 24-carat gold sheets and extraordinary decorations with naturalistic evocations. -We’ll stroll down the Street of Candies located near the 17th-century convent of the Poor Clare nuns of Puebla. You’ll learn all the stories, legends and recipes of these sweets. -Visit to the mercado El Parian. It is where commercial deals were carried out between Mexico, Europe and Asia from the 16th century to the 18th century. Discover the colorful stands of traditional crafts and Talavera poblana, the emblematic ceramics of Puebla (UNESCO intangible cultural heritage). -Visit to El Barrio del Artista, considered Puebla’s “little Montmartre” -Enjoy an artisanal ice cream with Puebla’s flavors: Aztec corn, cheese, lemon pie, rose petals, Rompope, and more.
