I have been a professional licensed tour guide since 2017 with a degree in history and archaeology from France. I've alway been passionate about history, because we need to know the past to understand the present. I was born on the Atlantic coast, and since I was a kid, I was fascinated by the ocean. While I was living in the Mexican Caribbean coast, I started to scuba dive, and I discovered a new world, the underwater world. I totally fell in love with this new environment, so I decided to follow the course of dive master to finally be certified as dive master in 2021. At that time I also started to study online  Oceanography with the iberoamerican University and in 2022 I did a course of scientific diver with The latin american society of scientific diving to learn about coral restauration, and monitoring of marine organism. I think that is an emergency to preserve the marine ecosystems, so I decided to start a career as a marine biologist in La Paz. My goal is to have the tools to understand these amazing ecosystems and be able to share scientific information in a simple way.  Born in France, but now I have the feeling that I belong in Mexico, after ten years of living in this amazing country. I started to guide in 2004, after getting a certification as an equestrian guide, and I worked in many countries such as Peru, Argentina, and Spain. I fell in love with Mexico for its extraordinarily caring and friendly people, its huge biodiversity, and his amazing culture. Did you know that in Mexico they still speak about 68 different languages or dialects? I love sharing with fellow travelers my passion for nature, history, and traditions. I used to live in many different part of Mexico as the caribbean coast, or San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato state and I finally decided to settle here in La Paz for the real peace of the place, the beautiful sunsets, the incredible History and of course this unique marine ecosystems of highest productivity and biological diversity. Baja California Sur is a very unique place in the world, as the famous french biologist Jacques Cousteau used to say that it is the aquarium of the world. We have the opportunity during winter to enjoy watching at least three different species of whale coming for reproduction and education purposes. Baja California coast offers different  seasonal wildlife, such as whale watching and whale shark swimming during the winter, then, in the spring we have the migration of Mobula and sometimes some killer whales and the summer sharks migration as the emblematic hammerhead . So I would love to show you the area with the dual perspective of an historian and scientist to make you love this place as much as I do with a valuable information. Baja California Sur has so much to offer, it is a right balance between culture and nature, with a lot of museums, charming towns, national parks, beautiful marine land and desertical landscapes with oasis. This place also has a rich history from the prehistoric times to now, with rock paintings and other artifacts dating as far back as 10, 000 years ago that attest the human presence in most regions of the Baja Peninsula. Do you know that the first name of la Paz used to be Santa Cruz ? Founded in 1535, the main Hernan Cortes founded a little colony by the bay as he named it Santa Cruz. But the place was abandoned a few years later, for the resistance of the native inhabitants and rediscovered again in 1596 when they were given its final name, La Paz. I would love to take you around the city and surroundings, showing the best spots full of amazing landscapes, architecture, and history. My goal is to provide private tours as a tailor-made service, giving a fun and pertinent information to enjoy a unique experience during your stay in Baja California Sur. Feel free to contact me if you have any doubts, and I will be happy to help you to plan the most amazing trip. My friend and I had a great tour on our first in La Paz with Marie. Marie read what I was interested in and really tailored the day to my and my friend's interests. We spent the lion share of our time in the Anthropology museum, which gave me a great base knowledge for the rest of our tour in Baja California Sur. Many of the themes she covered showed up in other tours and by the end I really felt like I had experienced as much as possible in 12 days. Marie is knowledgeable and friendly and clearly enjoys giving tours. I am really glad it was my first tour on this trip as it provided a frame for so much of what I experienced and learned. I highly and enthusiastically recommend Marie.

Marie was very personable and flexible. We were able to spend a very enjoyable day and learn quite a bit about La Paz history and geology. It was nice to spend the day in Mexico with a guide having a French accent and a Chinese name.

Marie is knowledgeable, charming, warm, and funny. She made it easy to connect, met us right where we got off the ship. She took us to the museum, where she used the exhibits as a starting point for her fascinating stories of the history of La Paz, going back tens of thousands of years. Then she showed us the cathedral. Drove us to see the magnificent views of city and sea. She offered to take us to lunch, but by then I was too tired to do anything other than go back to the ship. Wonderful time, well worth the modest cost.

This was a fun tour and a great introduction to the area. Marie is very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. She introduced us to the rich history of Baja California Sur as well as all the beautiful murals that can be found all over La Paz. She also left us with a treasure trope of tips about local restaurants and shops, each of them was a hit.

The La Paz city tour was fun, educational, and engaging from start to finish. Our guide’s passion for sharing the history, culture, and hidden gems of the city made the experience memorable. She explained everything with detail and enthusiasm, making it easy to stay interested while learning so much about La Paz’s traditions and landmarks. The balance of sightseeing, local stories, and cultural insight made the tour feel personal and authentic. Her energy and friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt included. I left the tour with a greater appreciation for the city and its people. If you want a tour that goes beyond surface-level sightseeing and gives you a deeper connection to La Paz, I definitely recommend her.

Marie asked our interests in La Paz and then designed a custom tour with a focus on history and culture. Her knowledge of La Paz is extensive and she imparts it in an engaging way that makes it clear she loves this area. The regional and whale (la balena) museums were both fascinating as well as our walk around town. Marie even found and brought us to a fabric shop at the last minute for my daughter. Overall a great experience and Marie has become a friend.
