Hola amigos! I am Susana, I live in Guanajuato and I love it here. Once I had the honor of working with the gray whales tourism in Vizcaíno, Baja California Sur; and from there I went to the south, the Yucatan bird festival "Toh" attracted to me. Later I fell in love with community projects at the state of Guanajuato when trying to push rural tourism initiatives, I still believe that we can do a lot to grow in this field. Before being a guide I am a traveler, a wanderer, and I like to see the world with my own eyes and I also love to appreciate my own city through traveling eyes. I am an accredited guide for Mexican Tourism Bureau. I think I am friendly, easy going. . . I like hiking, talking with people, ice cream, mexican and world cuisines, visit different places, nature and old cities, I love to spend time with friends, family and of course, with travelers!. -All my tours can be customized, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions - Nature Guide according to the local law: "Norma 09". (No. 001550, "Guía de turistas especializado, modalidad: Turismo de Aventura. Tema o actividad: Excursionismo, Español / Inglés. Vigencia: 2021-02-17."). Wilderness First Aid, Biosphere Certification, "Mining Haciendas" by Culture Bureau at Guanajuato, Covid-19 Courses: "Distintivo Guanajuato Sano" and Courses of Imss (Heath Department of Public Health Services). In the case of the bike tour, this option is not available for pregnant women. In the other tours, we have no restrictions.

Immerse yourself in the magnificent buildings constructed during the Guanajuato silver mining bonanza mainly in the eighteenth centuries. In this tour you will discover antique houses, small alleys and quaint squares, in which you will get a taste of the authentic Mexico. Guanajuato is famous with the mexicans, because the site of Alhondiga de Granaditas, a former town granary that became a revolutionary symbol after the insurrectionists Hidalgo, Allende, Aldama and Jimenez started the War of the Independence against Spain. Also a number of important festivals and celebrations occur throughout Guanajuato, including local religious and historical fiestas that celebrate popular folklore and practices. One eexample of this is the Cervantes Festival, the Film Festival, and local traditions as Día de la Cueva, Fiestas de San Juan, Viernes de Dolores, Día de Muertos and much more. Let me share with you the food, the history, the neighbourhoods and all the the hidden gems of the city where I live!

From the very first contact Susana was terrific. She was resposive and helpful in accommodating our interests. During the tour she made sure everyone in our group of 4 was engaged. We learned so much, not just the history and architecture but about Mexican society, food and culture. Susana is a great tour leader and communicator with a lot of international experience. If you are in Guanajuato, which is a delightful city, you won’t find a better tour guide than Susana.
We had a wonderful day in Guanajuato thanks to Susana and her friend/driver Martin. She communicated promptly from the start of planning our day. She coordinated transport. She met us in the city where she gave us a great tour. She was knowledgeable and friendly. She often ran into people she knows which was a fun addition to the experience. She recommended additional places to visit after the tour. All-in-all we had a fantastic day/tour and would recommend Susana to other travelers. Enjoy!
This was a marvelous tour - just what I was hoping for. Susana is an expert on all things Guanajuato and she shares her knowledge with enthusiasm. We met on the first day of my week in the city and I received the perfect overview for how to spend the remainder of my time. Great recommendations for food and culture, not to mention a winning personality. And as others mentioned, Susana does indeed seem to know every single person in the city of Guanajuato. Don't hesitate to book this tour!
Susana was terrific! She led a group of 14 of us on a really interesting walking tour of her spectacular city. She grew up in Guanajuato City, has deep roots there, and is well informed about the city's rich history. Her home town pride was obvious and infectious. We learned a great deal and had a lot of fun. Susana answered all our questions and let us set the pace according to our preferences. She communicated frequently leading up to the tour date and was flexible to accommodate our specific requests. She was prompt, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend her and hope to use her again soon.
I have a travel business and so have had countless experiences with guides in many places around the world. Susana is one of the best guides I have worked with. Thoroughly knowledgeable as any good guide should be. What makes her stand out however is her thorough-going attentiveness to the group. She makes sure the group is engaged, can hear--a surprisingly common shortcoming of many guides, speaking at a low volume or while facing away from the group--and that the chosen routes match the groups fitness levels. Most winningly, Susana has a lovely sunny light touch and a real gift with story-telling. I cannot recommend her enough!
9:00 am I will pick you up at the lobby of your hotel or outside of the place you stayed. I will show you some of the main attractions as: -the Hidalgo Market -Alhóndiga de Granaditas - Plazuela San Roque and San Fernand -Positos Street -University of Guanajuato - Plazuela del Baratillo -Union Square -Teatro Juarez. During the tour, I will find you more about your particular interest, for example: history, art, photography, according with this I will customize the tour in order to show you more things according with your preferences. Normally we don't enter to any museums, suddenly I enter to a private house, not popular museum, special store or coffee. I recommend the best museums for later in your free time. The tour last about 2. 5 to 3 hours. The starting time is flexible.
