Hi, I’m Tony Khong, a licensed tourist guide based in Kuala Lumpur. If you enjoy history, stories, and a bit of humour along the way—you’ll fit right in. I believe the best way to understand a place is not just to see it, but to hear the stories behind it (and sometimes the funny ones locals don’t usually tell!). With my background in teaching, I’m used to explaining things clearly and patiently, so you won’t feel overwhelmed. Whether you’re curious about Malaysia’s multicultural roots or just want a simple, enjoyable overview, I can adjust the depth and pace to suit you. I specialise in heritage and history experiences, helping you make sense of Malaysia’s unique mix of cultures—Malay, Chinese, Indian, and colonial influences—all woven into one city. My "tours" are relaxed, flexible, and fully personalised. Think of it less like a “tour” and more like exploring Kuala Lumpur with a knowledgeable local friend who can answer your questions (no matter how many!) Many of my guests are travellers who enjoy learning, asking questions, and exploring at a comfortable pace rather than rushing from place to place. All experiences are conducted in compliance with Malaysian tourism regulations and may be fulfilled in coordination with licensed tour operators where required. For tours that require transportation, we normally use e-hailing GRAB car (UBER) to move us around as and when required on our tour. You will pay directly for the usage. The cost of GRAB is variable depending on time of use and distance. Most guests are surprised at how affordable GRAB is in compared to their home city. However, if you prefer to have a private car, I can also assist you with it by contacting the local transport agents and you will pay for it directly. Cost depends on duration of use as well as the type of car - sedan, SUV, MPV etc.

Explore Kuala Lumpur comfortably across two relaxed sessions, designed to avoid the midday heat while making the most of your day. This private experience combines a morning heritage walk with a second session in the late afternoon and evening, with a break in between for rest, lunch, or personal time. We begin in the morning exploring the historic heart of the city, when it is cooler and quieter, allowing for a more enjoyable and unhurried introduction. After a midday break, we continue in the evening as the temperature cools and the city takes on a more relaxed and atmospheric character. Throughout the day, we travel mainly on foot, with optional use of local rail where helpful (fares are minimal and paid directly). As a licensed guide and former teacher, I provide clear explanations and engaging insights, helping you understand not just what you see, but why it matters. The experience is flexible, well-paced, and tailored to your interests.
Suggested Itinerary (flexible) Morning Session (8:00 or 9:00 am starting) Begin with a relaxed walk through the historic heart of Kuala Lumpur, exploring areas around Merdeka Square, the river confluence, and surrounding heritage streets while it is cooler and quieter. Midday Break Time for rest, lunch, or personal activities at your own pace before the second session. Evening Session (around 5:00 pm) Continue with a second, unhurried walk as the temperature cools, exploring Chinatown and nearby areas as the evening atmosphere builds. Optional Local Rail Where helpful, we may take a short ride on the local rail system for a smooth and easy way to move across the city (fares are minimal and paid directly). KLCC & City Lights Conclude near the Petronas Twin Towers as the skyline comes alive after dark. The route may be adjusted based on weather, pace, and your interests.
