As an individual, I am interested in most everything that is related to art, culture, history (both yours and mine!) and the human psyche. My friends call me quirky for the range of interest I engage in. I hike, backpack, juggle, read and do a range of stuff that catches my fancy =D I usually feel at my best when it comes to sharing and learning. I'm an avid traveller with experiences of travelling, working and living abroad in Asia, North and South America. Hoping to hit at the very least half of the 196 countries before I shuck off my mortal coils. As a guide, I have a deep passion for culture, present lifestyle as well as history both mine and yours (where ever it is that you hail from!) and if there is a place in Malaysia where I could specialize or recommend a visit, it would be my hometown - the (600 years!) historical city of Malacca where it all begins! While I specialized in Malacca, I am also available for heritage tours of Kuala Lumpur for it is I would say the birthplace of modern-day Malaysia particularly in terms of economics and governance. Please do inquire should you be interested to have me as your guide in other cities/ locations in Malaysia as each city is uniquely rich in their respective local flavour! I am an English language city guide accredited by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism. A Bachelor of Psychology graduate who ran from the comforts of an MNC company to be a freelancer in tourism :) A member of the Kuala Lumpur tour guide association (KLTGA) which stipulates ongoing tourism knowledge training as a requirement for license renewal and an former docent at the National Museum. I have also been accepted into a scholarship program as part of a tourism exchange to study Spanish in Colombia for 4 months in 2016 of which I managed to extend my stay to realize a childhood dream of visiting Macchu Picchu and the Nazca lines in Peru.

Our tour (private 1/2 day, not Heritage) w/Melissa was excellent. She gave insightful history, religious and cultural context to everything we saw. She was flexible w/itinerary and paying extra for the aircon car+driver was 100% worth it-enabling us to see Batu Caves and much more v comfortably. Even our older teens were engaged. We all got a good sense of KL despite the very short time we had in the city. One of the best tours we've ever taken over many yrs of int'l travel. Highly recommend.

Melissa was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable when it came to the religion, history and modern day politics of Malaysia. She was considerate and gauged our interest. I recommend you ask her to take you to a local restaurant.
Meet & Greet at hotel lobby (in KL) - We then travel to the start point via train, local bus or a cab - Visit Old Market Square (1860s chinatown) - Photostop at the Foundation site of old KL (overlooking Jamek mosque) - Visit the Independence Square (independence field, clustered of picturesque Mughal/Mohammedan buildings, St. Mary's cathedral) - Visit the Old printing office to see a miniature scaled model of KL skyline (tickets included) - Spend some time walking through the Centre Market (old market now arts & craft bazaar) - Visit the Sin Sze Ya temple - Visit the Sri Maha Marriamman Hindu temple ( a beautiful gilded wrap is provided as a wrap around the waist) - Walk through Chinatown * itinerary can be customized depending on available time & interest. eg stop for lunch/dinner/visit to the Petronas twin towers.
