Historical Full Day Tour in Trapani and Erice with XIXth century Florio Winery

The historical excursion is a journey through time in the places of Western Sicily Trapani: the route weaves through the main streets of the historic center and other highlights in less frequented streets and alleys. You will meet various testimonies of civilizations of the past such as the city walls, the Colombaia tower, both of Punic origin. There is the possibility of entering the oldest churches in the city, first Greek Orthodox places of worship, then Muslim mosques, ending up being Latin Catholic churches Erice: the historical tour of Erice (original name Eryx) starts from an ancestral past with the Elymians. We will visit the castles, the gardens, the old churches and main characteristic shops for ceramics, pastries and handcrafts The tour will be a time travelling experience from the III millenium before Christ until today, facing main historical events happened from the Elymians to the Romans, Carthigians, Normans up to today Florio Winery from 1875 in the countryside for wine tasting and lunch

Trapani: historical centre with main palaces, churches, fish market, seasides area like Tramontana walkside, Torre Ligny area, some bakeries and other food and drink places for a street food experience. Erice: historical centre with main palaces and churches, gardens, castles, Spanish district, main pastries shops for typical sweets and dessert wines, ceramic and other local handicraft shops. To go from Trapani to Erice, and from Erice to Trapani, I will drive you in two different roads to best experience the two landscapes, one on Trapani, Saltmines and Egadi Islands, the second one on Mount Cofano with the northern western coast of Sicily. Alternatively, it is possible to use the cableway in one way or both ways. Additional option: visit an old winery founded by the Florio family in 1875 in Alcamo countryside with visit of vineyards. We could add the experience of traditional Sicilian organic lunch within the winery with full organic wine tasting during the lunch or the wine tasting only without lunch.
