Our tour with Carlo was perfection! First of all, communicating with him using messaging on the Tours By Locals site was very easy. He was very responsive and patient with me as I had a lot of questions. Alberobello has long been on my wish list, and I wanted to make sure we were going to enjoy it and get plenty of time there. He picked the four of us up right on time from our Taranto cruise ship port, and gave us lots of information about the local area and history as we drove to Aberobello. We arrived early, before the crowds, and WOW! It was just as amazing as I dreamed it would be. He led us skillfully around the town, giving plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere and take photos. Then we had a big surprise… He took us to a local mozzarella cheese place where we got to see them making fresh mozzarella, go down to the cheese cellar for the aging process, and then taste all kinds of delicious treats. Carlo knew everybody there, and we had VIP treatment. Then we were off to Martina Franca. I had no expectations, but he said this would be a very quaint and beautiful visit, and he was right! All of the white marble, the beautiful town Square, the shops and atmosphere were so memorable. We had time for some delicious gelato, and then returned to the ship with lots of photos and great memories. By the way, Carlo took lots of photos of us throughout the day, so we are definitely taking the magic home with us in photos. I highly recommend Carlo for any tour that he offers, you will enjoy getting to know him, and making a new friend, and enjoying the part of Italy where he was born and raised, and it’s so passionate about.
