Discover and enjoy the authentic Puglia. Welcome in Puglia (or Apulia): the sunny and windy "heel of the Italian boot". We are Italy's easternmost region, right in the middle of the Mediterranean sea with culture and traditions that are the results of several different dominations, cultural and economic influences. First of all I'm a traveler (for leisure and work) and I like to discover foreign countries and their culture, traditions, food, people, etc. I have been working in tourism since 1998 as travel designer, event organizer, licensed tourist guide, nature (hike and bike) and interpretive guide, tour leader, food and wine lover (olive oil taster, wine sommelier). I'm passionate about my region and I like to share our amazing attractions and culture with other people. Puglia is an "easy region": the weather is quite warm all year long (the best time to come is from March to November but it's worth to come also in winter time), people is friendly (… but only a few people speaks English or another foreign language), there are always lots of events and things to do and our Mediterranean diet is healthy and tasty for everybody (amazing choice of tasty meat, fish, pasta, rice, legumes, vegetables and fruit recipes). Travelers who come for the first time in Puglia usually are fascinated by the Puglian daylight and the colours of the seaside and the countryside. I'll share with you the soul of Puglia, its culture, traditions, flavors, nature, scent, vibes . . . If you're looking for an hyper detailed and boring visit I'm not the tour guide for you but if you like a friendly and easy going person who will make his best, thanks to his experience and empathy, to understand and satisfy your needs, to suggest the right choices matching with your interests, to introduce in our culture and traditions, to help you in spending a very nice time … then contact me. I'm a licensed tour guide, nature (hike and bike) guide, environmental educator; wine sommelier, certified olive oil taster, tour leader. Education and training: University degree with experimental final essay (with photographic appendix) in Geography about Apulian rural buildings (masseria, villa, trullo); Master in Tourism Economics and Management; Professional training courses: tour guide, nature and interpretive guide, environmental educator, bike guide, bicycle mechanic, BLSD (Basic Life Support Defibrillation), inclusive and accessible tourism; Cooking, wine and extra virgin olive oil tasting classes; Workshop about recognition of Apulian wild orchids; Photography's workshop about show and Entertainment, nature. PLEASE WRITE ME BEFORE BOOKING (this way we will be sure the tour will match perfectly your needs in terms of price, service included, date, start time, duration, etc.). THIS WAY IS EASIER AND FASTER FOR YOU AND ME.

I was born and raised in this area and - thanks to my extensive experience as tour guide, nature guide, wine and olive oil sommelier - I can personsalize for you an itinerary with the right mix or archaeology, history, art, architecture, wine, food and handicrafts. Taranto was one of the most important city in the Magna Graecia. The MArTA National Archeologic Museum displays quite extraordinary finds (pottery, mosaics, gold jewellery) showing the splendor of Taranto in the Greek and Roman period. In the picturesque old city of Taranto we can admire the remains of the Doric Temple (or Poseidon Temple; the oldest temple of the Magna Graecia), the interesting cathedral (a mix of Romanesque and baroque style) with S. Cataldo's chapel and its astonishing marble statues and decorations, some palaces in the narrow streets, the fishing port. It's also worth to visit the Aragonese Castle and the swing bridge. During the holy week there is one of the most famous and suggestive "hooded penitens" procession in Italy.
While with a full day it's possible to enjoy the whole city, with this half day tour we can only do a quick guided visit of the city (you can choose 2 of the following visits): - national archeological museum; - aragonese castle and the swing bridge; - old town located on a island with the Doric Temple, the cathedral, etc. There are some other options driving in the surroundings: Grottaglie (and its ceramics district with several pottery craftsman with traditional, artistic and design style ceramics), Oria, Manduria, Alberobello, Martina Franca, Castellaneta (the birthplace of Rudolph Valentino), a city of the rupestrian civilization (Matera, Massafra, Mottola, Laterza, Ginosa) with cave dwellings and churches carved in the rocks and painted with frescoes; hiking in the Natural Park of the Ravines, excursion in the natural area of Monk's salt marsh (with pink flamingos) and the sandy beaches on the Ionian sea; wine tasting of Primitivo di Manduria; a boat trip with dolphins watching, a fishing excursion
