Lake Trasimeno is nowadays a favourite touristic destination on account of the great food, wine and sights available to the visitor, beautiful beaches included in the Summer time. However it was also the site n 217 BC of a famous battle between the Romans and Hannibal's Carthaginians.
We will drive by the various sites connected with the battle in 217 BC. We will then finish the tour at the local museum where I can book for you the presence of historical re-enactors -if available- who will go into great detail about the weapons and fighting techniques used by the two enemy armies. At the end of the tour I will suggest restaurants where you can eat local dishes and enjoy a beautiful sight on the lake.
