The Furlo Pass is a gorge on the ancient Roman road Via Flaminia in the Marche region of central Italy, where it passes near the Candigliano river, a tributary of the Metauro. The gorge was formed between the Pietralata (889 m) and Paganuccio (976 m) mountains by the river Candigliano, which whooshed in full spate through the district until it was dammed in 1922. The Roman emperor Vespasian had a tunnel built here to facilitate passage on the Via Flaminia at the narrowest point of the gorge (hence the name, from the Latina "forulum", meaning "small hole"). A suggestive trek rich in history and of course with a finale dedicated to the gold of the table the Truffle. At the end of the Tour, we can go to visit a Middle age Romanesque Church: Sant Vincent Church built in the X century.
1. Trekking Furlo Gorge 2. Tunnel built by Romans I century After Christ. 3. San Vincent Church (Romanesque Church X century) 4. Truffle shopping. There 2 options for discovering this place: 1. Trek tour 8 km return - 450 mt difference in height that allows you to reach a beautiful lookout over the Gorge - this kind of trek is considered medium-difficult 2. easy walk next to the river inside the Gorge (5 km return)
