Sweet Traditions with Lucía: A Fun Guatemalan Candy Workshop for Families and Kids

At Lucía’s home, a welcoming space full of warmth and tradition, we’ll learn to make canillitas de leche and create our own candies to take home. Lucía, a passionate mother and cook, will guide us step by step, sharing stories about each sweet’s history and cultural significance. We’ll also taste at least ten varieties of traditional Guatemalan candies, from milk-based treats to fruity and nutty delights. This hands-on, family-friendly workshop is perfect for children and adults alike, combining learning, creativity, and tasting. Participants leave with their handmade candies, new skills, and a deeper connection to Guatemala’s culinary traditions, making this a joyful and unforgettable cultural experience.

9:00 AM – Meet at Antigua Market & Chicken Bus Ride Board a traditional chicken bus and enjoy the scenic ride to San Lorenzo El Cubo, passing through local villages and countryside. 9:30 AM – Arrival at Lucía’s Home Greet Lucía, a passionate mother and cook, and settle into her welcoming kitchen. 9:40 AM – Hands-On Candy Making Learn to prepare canillitas de leche, following Lucía’s step-by-step guidance.
