Hello! My name is Juan. I am a former world-class taekwondo athlete and a gold-driven professional with a passion for travel, people, and sports. I am from Cuba and moved to Greece about 12 years ago. Also, I have an University degree in Sports Science, recognized by Ministerium of Sports and Culture of Greece. As a former olympic athlete I have participated in several competitions: I got a second place in the World Taekwondo Championship and have been eight times national Champion of Cuba. Overview of your Olympia tour
During this 4 hour, you will have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the well-preserved site where the Olympic games were born. The ancient Olympic Games were the most important sports event in the Greek world. According to the mythology, it was Hercules who established the games in order to celebrate the success of his 12 labors. During the tour, I will bring you walking to the hill outside the archeological site of Olympia to take some photos to the ancient track and field, View where the complete ancient temples and famous statues would have been standing as well as watch the ancient athletes preparing for the different sporting events. You will have the opportunity on your own to explore Olympia with free application of Olympia.
Your Olympia tour itinerary
- Drive 30 minutes country site from Katalo port to Olympia - 1 hours walking in village of Olympia - The visit to Olympia site and museum takes approximately 2 hours. There you will have free time to explore the ruins and museum with free application of Olympia, (please note I will not be escorting you inside as I am not licensed guide) - 30 minutes drive back to the port.
