Hi everyone! I am Elena and I will be more than happy to offer you my insights into ancient Olympia, Katakolon and their surroundings. I am a certified tourist guide/Archaeologist and speak fluent English, Spanish and Greek. I was born in Athens, the capital of Greece, however, my roots are from a small village close to ancient Olympia. This was the place where I spent most of my summers when I was little, listening to the fascinating stories of my grandparents about Olympia and its vast history. It's no wonder I studied Archeology! After completing my studies in Greek Archaeology and the Public School of Tourist Guides, I moved to the area and have been living there ever since. I design and run my own tours for the last few years and I collaborate with renowned travel Gurus, such as Matt Barrett. I have a passion for history and enjoy traveling with others back in time to the myths and mysteries of the ancient world. Perfect private shore excursion from Katakolon. Elena arranged for Kostas to pick us up at the port for the drive to and from Olympia. She met us there and gave us a wonderful tour of both the museum and site. We highly recommend this tour.

Wow! This tour was a highlight of our time in Greece and cruise along the Adriatic Coast! Elena has an archaeological degree so her knowledge of ancient Greek culture in general and Olympia specifically is outstanding. Combining this with her passion for the Olympics and their meaning made for a spectacular tour. I had run the Athens Marathon along the original course from 2500 years ago two days prior. Elena's admiration for that achievement was so touching to me. Of course, I had to run the length of the ancient Olympic stadium and as I did Elena made an olive leaves crown for me which she awarded to me afterwards. Next came a trip to a local taverna where Elena and Kostos ordered some delicious Greek comfort food. It was my wife's birthday and they surprised her with a beautiful birthday cake. Overall, we can't imagine having had a better tour of Olympia with anyone else!

My team will meet you at the central gate of the port, by the sign "PORT OF KATAKOLO, JOHN LATSIS". INSTRUCTIONS: The port of Katakolon has two (2) different piers. Regardless of which one the cruise ship will be docking, you need to walk past the control area and keep walking towards the exit of the port by following the RED paved section. It is a max. 7' walk in case you are at the most distant pier or 3' walk if you are at the one closer to the central gate of the port.
