Hi everyone! I am Elena and I will be more than happy to offer you my insights into ancient Olympia, Katakolon and their surroundings. I am a certified tourist guide/Archaeologist and speak fluent English, Spanish and Greek. I was born in Athens, the capital of Greece, however, my roots are from a small village close to ancient Olympia. This was the place where I spent most of my summers when I was little, listening to the fascinating stories of my grandparents about Olympia and its vast history. It's no wonder I studied Archeology! After completing my studies in Greek Archaeology and the Public School of Tourist Guides, I moved to the area and have been living there ever since. I design and run my own tours for the last few years and I collaborate with renowned travel Gurus, such as Matt Barrett. I have a passion for history and enjoy traveling with others back in time to the myths and mysteries of the ancient world. As an archaeologist I will accompany you on a memorable journey to the myths and mysteries of Olympia. Ancient Olympia, the valley of the Gods and the area that gave birth to the Olympics, lies in the heart of the countryside. Ancient Olympia Highlights: •See where the Olympic torch is lit. •Run the Olympic track. •Stand on the grounds of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the statue of Zeus. •Children will participate in making olive wreaths, imitate the labours of Hercules and race in the original Olympic track - the privilege of having long term collaboration with the Greek Archaeological Service specialized in educational programmes for children.
