Hello dear guests, Welcome to my wonderful home town of Trier. My name is Andrea and I am your English- speaking tour guide for Trier, Luxembourg and the Moselle and Saar river region. I am very happy to show you around and let you experience the most impressive monuments in this region , its wonderful landscape, our incredible history dating back to the Roman times, people's hospitality and of course - our world famous wine :-) I was born and raised in Trier. My passion for being a tour guide initially started out as a hobby more than ten years ago. While travelling the world myself, my interest in being a guide in my home was formed. Seeing people in the whole world passionate about inviting tourists to get to know their home countries, their history and culture inspired me to fulfill this profession as well. For several years, I am now a full-time tour guide guiding guests from all over the world. I look forward to meeting you as well. Overview of your Trier tour
The tour starts in Saarburg, a little, cosy town close to Trier. saarburg is 30 min distance from Trier. It is known for the Saarburg castle overlooking the river, that flows right through the town. The Saarburg waterfalls in the middle of the inner city provides for a nice view. The highlight of the tour is the Saarschleife ( the Saar bow) at the Cloef. The river bends thus providing a natural wonder with a spectacular sight, created by the power of water. Located at the Cloef walking path is a walkway in the tree tops. This is a special experience which lies 23 meters above ground with an additional 43-meters-high viewpoint. This view is gorgeous. Villa Borg, a rebuilding of a Roman mansion and the Saar town of Nennig are next. There we find one of the most beautiful and largest Roman mosaics north of the Alps.
