Best of Strasbourg: History and Architecture

Gustav knows Strasbourg and added so much to our experience of the city despite our limited time available. He was also quite flexible as we were meeting him after a lunch which ran long. One of our family of four has limited mobility and used a wheelchair. Gustav was very considerate of our needs. We even hopped on the local tram with him to shorten our walk - an unexpected and well appreciated taste of local life. Gustav also found a refreshing place to stop for coffee. We saw many essential sights, including the cathedral and its striking clock. Gustav was friendly, well spoken, knowledgeable. We would not hesitate to recommend his services. Gustave is a top tier history guide. He gave us both highlights and detailed history of Strasbourg. He customized the tour so we didn't waste time waiting in line for the Cathedral when it was more crowded than usual. We came back later and had a wonderful tour of it. He answered all our questions and used those as opportunities to expand further. He has layers of historical knowledge and enriched our trip so much. He is also an amazing communicator and very personable.

Gustave was terrific. We learned so much about the city, region, history and culture on our tour. He had great answers for all of our questions. The city is beautiful and we were able to get so many incredible pictures. Gustave had great suggestions for food and wine that we took advantage. Most important I was injured earlier in my trip and he was able to help me out at the last minute so that I could enjoy the tour. If you are thinking about booking this tour it is well worth it.

Gustave was a personable and knowledgeable guide who clearly has great affection for Strasbourg and the Alsace region. We learned a lot about the history of the area, and its various neighborhoods with their unique architecture. He was flexible and adjusted the itinerary and pace to suit our needs, and was happy to recommend restaurants and additional sights we might want to explore on our own. The finishing wine and cheese tasting was excellent and a perfect way to wrap up our tour. I'm happy to recommend Gustave.
