Hi, I am Fernando! I have been a Tour Guide since 1995 till now a days and after having done more than 1200 tours in Guayaquil, I do not think that any tour is the same as another, because every time I share the culture, the historical attractions, the nature and the energy from my city, I always appreciate and enjoy the contact I get to have with travelers from all over the world. The constant metamorphosis of Guayaquil, overall in the last 22 years of the new century, make feel happy and proud to be a guide of The Pearl of the Pacific and for sure one of the aspects of my hometown that I enjoy the most is it's beautiful nature, particulary Guayaquil's ecosystems: mangroves, dry forest hills, rivers and estuaries that attract more than 100 species of birds!!! In 1993 I got a degree in Tourism and hospitality, 2 years later I started with my first tours and fall in love with this way of life, where foreign travelers leave me a piece of their countries and surely, they took a piece of Ecuador. In 1998 I wanted to travel too, my choice was Switzerland and Italy, later in the 21 century I had visit 7 States in the US as well as Costa Rica and Spain. Let me share my city with you! Licensed National Tour Guide by Ecuador's Ministry of Tourism Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hospitality English degree German Student Local guide in Guayaquil and the surroundings for more than 25 years Churute Mangrove Eco Reserve Certificated Guide I cannot pick you up from the port, but I can meet you at the gate.

From the time of Spanish colonization until today, Ecuadorian cacao was and is very well appreciated by other countries around the world, such as France, Switzerland, Belgium, Nederlands, Germany, The Unites States of America, among other. But do the citizens of these countries know how is the process of the cacao? Why is it called "the golden seed"? How it became in chocolate? Come with me and discover all of this in a visit to a Local Cacao Farm. This Cacao Farm is a typical family farm of the countryside of Guayaquil city, located only 32 miles away. It is surrounded by Churute Ecological Reserve's hills and the Churute River. Together we'll explore the farm that has rice and cacao plantations, a cacao green house, mango, papaya, dragon fruit, avocado, bread fruit trees, as well as tomato, green pepper, lemon grass, etc. Most of these will be the ingredients for your lunch and most of them are organic products.
- Pick up at previously-agreed location. - Drive for about 32 miles (51 km) to the farm. - We will begin with a walk by the cacaco plantations and learn all about the process that's necessary to make delicious chocolate. - Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch (included) at the farm and we will finish the visit by making our own chocolate to complete this special countryside experience! - We say goodbye to the farm and drive back to Guayaquil to drop you off at the previously-agreed location. ** This tour can be customized upon request, please contact me.
