The Coffee County & The Folkloric Town Day Trip From San José

Jorge is an exceptional guide. From the start he shared with us not only his knowledge of history of Costa Rica but also deep understanding of business, health care, education, environment and all aspects of life in Costa Rica. The visit to coffee plantation enriched our knowledge of coffee production and we also had an opportunity to taste coffee prepared for us by coffee plantation owner. Jose was an exceptional guide who made our day in Costa Rica truly memorable. He arrived early and took us to an award‑winning boutique coffee plantation, where we enjoyed a private, informative tour of the entire coffee‑growing, harvesting, roasting, and tasting process. Sampling their outstanding coffee while taking in a beautiful view was unforgettable. He then brought us to Sarchí for a tour of the UNESCO‑recognized ox‑cart workshop, guiding us through the painting area, workspaces, and small museum. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious, authentic Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant. The day continued with a visit to a lovely waterfall in the cloud forest. Throughout the trip, Jose shared fascinating insights and stories about Costa Rica. As a lifelong resident, his knowledge, warmth, and professionalism elevated the experience. I highly recommend him.

From beginning to end, this tour was outstanding. We began by visiting a local coffee plantation, received a personalized tour, enjoyed coffee tasting personally prepared by Jorge's wife and had a traditional Costa Rican lunch. The aux cart factory was very interesting and added a lot to the tour. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like a personal day with an outstanding guide and see the Costa Rican countryside a great experience

The tour was AMAZING! It is one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. In no small part because Jorge is amazing! By the end of the day, it felt like we had become friends :) We had exchanged book recommendations and music pointers. We felt like we got to know Costa Rica better, even though we had already taken several tours prior. He took us to Naranjo and Sarchi where we met wonderful people and saw beautiful landscapes and art! I have much more to say, but am running into the character limit :)

We had a delightful day. Jorge is extremely knowledgeable, kind, considerate, efficient — I am so glad to have found him. Thanks to Jorge, we were privileged to spend time with one of a family of organic farmers, learning, seeing — and smelling! — how they manage the land and crops. Quite unexpectedly, she also gave us a delicious lunch so we could sample the results. We also enjoyed our stop in Sarchí, and our wide-ranging conversations with Jorge in route. ¡Muchas gracias, Jorge!
