Our first day in the country. I wanted a good multilayered experience. Wet forest, dry forest, a long but comfortable hike at my photographer pace. Henry is excellent at spotting not only birds but spiderwebs and tiny frogs. He knows his stuff! And speaks very good English after several hours we left Carara rainforest and drove to thru the countryside to find macaws and toucans. Magnificent views came with a quick lunch stop. Henry has a driver so he can give his attention to pointing out sites along the way. We had 2 custom trips w Henry. You will not go wrong.

Henry was very communicative for booking and meet up. He was flexible with our tour plan and made arrangements for a boat outing on the fly, he was informative, upbeat and answered all of our many questions. He took us to a fabulous lunch on the mountain. And he got us back on time, with no rushing!

Tree Topia Park, Monteverde, with tour guide Henry. Henry, with his driver, were waiting, at the pier at Puntarenas, as promised. Our family group of six began our journey to the magnificent Tree Topia Park in Monteverde. En route, Henry enlightened us with fascinating stories not only of his homeland, Costa Rica, but of the animals, birds, and plants that we would soon see. Henry has a deep knowledge and respect of the ecosystem of the Costa Rican rainforests as well as its inhabitants who dwell there. Arriving at Tree Topia, Henry became almost one with the forest. The animals are hidden unless you know where to look. Henry, with his scope was able to spot a group of monkeys almost immediately. He is amazing. Following our experience walking on suspended bridges at tree top level, Henry brought us to a women owned craft complex where we had an authentic Costa Rican lunch.

Henry arrived promptly and was very friendly, outgoing and responsive to all of our questions. He took us to the Parque Nacional Carara, where he demonstrated extensive knowledge about the local fauna and flora. He brought along a special viewing scope and was amazing in his ability to locate and identify many different species of plants and animals. Henry showed an obvious passion, perception and unique ability to use his senses to find animals that we would never have seen on our own. We drove up into the mountains for lunch at Rancho Shadday that had delicious food and amazing views. Returning to port, we observed multiple crocodiles in their natural environment from a bridge. Henry's 20+ years of experience was definitely evident throughout our tour. We would highly recommend hiring Henry as your tour guide for an unforgettable in-depth experience in nature.
