Birding in Costa Rica

Join me on a guided walk through Carara National Park, located in Costa Rica’s Central Pacific region, where the rainforest and dry forest converge, creating one of the most biodiverse areas in the country. This unique ecosystem is home to rare species of birds, amphibians, reptiles, and plants — many found only in this transitional zone. The dense forest offers easy-to-walk trails, perfect for a relaxed 3–4 hour nature immersion. But Carara is more than wildlife. It holds deep Pre-Columbian and indigenous cultural history, which I’ll share with you as we explore. Whether you're a birdwatcher, nature lover, or curious traveler, this tour offers a rich blend of biodiversity and heritage — a true Costa Rican experience.

We’ll begin the tour at the time that works best for you and head to Carara National Park for a 2–4 hour guided walk, depending on your schedule. The trails are easy and surrounded by rich biodiversity. After the walk, we’ll enjoy a local lunch, then make our way back to your hotel. On the way, we can stop for souvenirs and visit the iconic Tarcoles River Bridge, where you’ll spot wild crocodiles in their natural habitat — a must-see!
