Hello folks!. Welcome to Bogota. I'll be glad to have you, and I would do my best so you'd have great memories of your stay in Colombia. I am a very friendly, cordial person. I've lived in the USA; in Phoenix where I participated on a foreign exchange student program for a school year. I've also lived in London, Barcelona, and Paris where I pursued some studies in order to get my Language Arts Bachelor's degree. I enjoy meeting new people and speaking foreign languages, and showing you my country. Do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have. I am looking forward to seeing you soon. We, all the people engaged in the tourism business are working pretty hard on meeting all bio-safety standards in order to be ready to have you when you decide to come to visit my wonderful country. So please stay well, and I hope to see you back soon. Nancy. Bachelor´s degree in Language Arts (University of Paris VIII, St Denis. The Salt Cathedral We will go to the town of Zipaquira which is located more or less 1 hour drive north from Bogota (29 miles). This is considered today the first marvel of Colombia. The Salt Cathedral complex was carved 590 feet below the ground at a place which is today still active. Along the entrance tunnel the 14 stations of the cross emerge with its splendor and simplicity. After the Great Dome, the Narthex, and finally the three naves representing the cathedal. This amazing carving work into the salt rock which was designed by a Colombian architect. We can also appreciate a mirror of water which is an amazing optical illussion. The visit would take us 90 minutes walking. After we can head to the quaint town for a short visit. Please inquiry if you have any special request.
Depart from the hotel for an hour drive to reach the town of Zipaquira where the Salt Cathedral is located. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes since all the visit is done by walking during an hour and a half more or less.
