It has a great variety of museums, among them the Gold Museum stands out, with a collection of more than 50, 000 pre-Columbian gold pieces of the best quality. This makes it the first of its kind in the world. The colonial churches lined with altarpieces covered with gold plates; the old city La Candelaria, with its colonial style balconies and its beautiful streets that will transport you to the past; The theaters; the opera; the Plaza de Bolívar, where the government is located, as well as its Cathedral, the Capitol, the Mayor's Office, the Presidential Palace and many other places that will not go unnoticed. Overview of your Bogota tour
In the city tour of Bogotá, we visit the most important places, like the famous Gold Museum, with more 50. 000 pre-Columbian pieces, a collection from the all over the country. The old Bogotá La Candelaria founded in 1538 by the Spanish, the main Plaza Simón Bolivar where we have the Government Center, Botero Museum and the Monserrate Mountain by cable car, where one can have a good panoramic view of the city. Bogotá is an unforgettable city with so much art, lovely people, delicious food, and the best tasting coffee. * On Monday the Gold Museum is closed. We will see another attraction. * On Tuesday the Botero Museum is closed. We will see another attraction. * On Sunday we can reach Monserrate mountain by taxi only. * On Saturdays and Sundays, the visit to Monserrate is changed for the Marcketplace Paloquemao. This change is to avoid that you have to wait so much time in line. Or Fast Pass with the payment of $22 USD or $81. 000 COP per person, to be pay in cas h just when you get in the Cable Car.

Thank you Rodrigo, You did an excellent tour today of the highlights of the city of Bogota to my Husband and Son. They were very happy and highly recommend Rodrigo as your guide. He was so kind the whole trip wanting to please us and even toured an extra hour because he wanted to show more highlights then expected. My son said he was very Generous with his time. Also he was an excellent driver such as my husbands comment was Rodrigo was "Carefull and Safe driver" One big highlight that was amazing about Rodrigo. A few hours after he returned my husband and son to the hotel and the tour was over ....our son realized he left his jacket in Rodrigo car. To his amazement Rodrigo drove all the way back to our hotel to return the jacket to Dawson. That was very admirable of Rodrigo to do that in very heavy traffic of Bogota. Rodrigo provided us with a delightful, informative and efficient tour of Bogota in 5 hours! He gave excellent insights into the public market with its myriad of fresh flowers and food , the Candelaria District inclusive of the Gold Museum, Botero Museum and the Plaza de Bolivar. We were picked up at our hotel by the airport and so also got to see/ discuss the lovely mural work and public transportation system in Bogota. Rodrigo gave us a fabulous tour of Bogotá. He picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the best local spots. He created a wonderful 2 day custom tour for us which included touring the market with local foods and flowers, wandering through the Botero art museum (incredible collection), gold museum, emerald museum, street art in la Candelaria (my fav), a famous hot chocolate with cheese spot in the old town (Anthony Bourdain visited), and the best chocolate shop I have ever been to. We bought enough chocolate to take home for gifts but ate it all! Rodrigo was always on time, very thoughtful and knowledgeable and knows the city like the back of his hand. We highly recommend him and would definitely book him again for future tours. We always felt safe and well taken care of with him. 5 stars!
