Private Bogotá Coffee Tour - The World in Five Cups

Travel through centuries of coffee history without leaving Bogotá’s historic center. On this private 3.5-hour experience, we visit five carefully selected cafés in La Candelaria, with one tasting included at each stop. Through different brewing methods, we follow coffee from its African origins in Ethiopia and its development in Yemen and the Arab world, to Venice, Parisian cafés, the Industrial Revolution in Britain, the rise of American coffee culture, and finally Colombia. Along the way, we discuss trade, colonialism, forced labor, slavery, political debate, industrialization and the evolution of coffee as a global drink. In Colombia, we explore how the crop arrived, expanded, shaped the national economy and evolved into today’s specialty-coffee movement. Between tastings, we walk through colorful streets, plazas and hidden corners of La Candelaria.
