Hello! I’m Julian, a professional private tour guide specializing in cultural tours, nature experiences, hiking, trekking, gastronomy, and customized travel in Bogotá and its surrounding regions. I enjoy helping travelers discover Colombia through its history, people, landscapes, traditions, and local culture. My tours go beyond the main attractions, combining engaging stories, authentic experiences, and a local perspective. In Bogotá, I guide private tours through La Candelaria, Monserrate, Paloquemao Market, Usaquén, the historic center, street art districts, and local neighborhoods. I also offer food tours, exotic fruit tastings, cooking experiences, shopping tours, nightlife activities, airport transfers, and personalized layover tours. For outdoor travelers, I organize hiking and trekking experiences in destinations such as La Chorrera Waterfall, Chicaque Natural Park, Chingaza National Park, and Sumapaz Páramo. I also offer full-day private tours to Zipaquirá, Guatavita, Villa de Leyva, coffee farms, and other cultural and natural destinations near Bogotá. Every tour is private, flexible, and adapted to your interests, available time, and physical condition. Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, with family, or with friends, my goal is to help you experience Bogotá and Colombia safely, comfortably, and authentically. I look forward to creating a memorable local experience with you!

Travel through centuries of coffee history without leaving Bogotá’s historic center. On this private 3.5-hour experience, we visit five carefully selected cafés in La Candelaria, with one tasting included at each stop. Through different brewing methods, we follow coffee from its African origins in Ethiopia and its development in Yemen and the Arab world, to Venice, Parisian cafés, the Industrial Revolution in Britain, the rise of American coffee culture, and finally Colombia. Along the way, we discuss trade, colonialism, forced labor, slavery, political debate, industrialization and the evolution of coffee as a global drink. In Colombia, we explore how the crop arrived, expanded, shaped the national economy and evolved into today’s specialty-coffee movement. Between tastings, we walk through colorful streets, plazas and hidden corners of La Candelaria. Private hotel pickup and drop-off, transportation, a separate driver, a private guide and all five tastings are included.
1. Hotel pickup and private transfer to La Candelaria. 2. First café: trace coffee’s roots in Ethiopia, its development in Yemen and the Arab world, and its Ottoman coffeehouse culture. Taste coffee prepared in a cezve/ibrik. 3. Second café: follow coffee to Venice and Europe while discussing colonial trade, forced labor and slavery. Taste an Italian espresso. 4. Third café: explore Parisian cafés, Enlightenment debate and the French Revolution with a French press tasting. 5. Fourth café: discover how industrialization in Britain and mass consumption in the United States changed coffee culture, followed by an Americano. 6. Fifth café: learn how coffee arrived in Colombia, expanded through regional production and became central to the national economy. Taste a specialty Colombian coffee prepared with V60. 7. Walk through La Candelaria between stops, then return by private vehicle to your hotel. Café order or brewing methods may change according to availability.
