Hi Travelers! My name is Jaime, I'm a Professional English-Spanish Translator from the University of La Serena, my hometown and residence place, in Chile. Overview of your La Serena tour

What can be said about this wonderful place? With an average of three hundred days a year of clear skies, green vineyards, clear rivers, beautiful hills and, at night, one of the most iconic places in South America to practice stargazing, with at least 6 great observatories located in this region. The Elqui Valley has everything a place needs to get a piece of your heart. I've been doing this tour for 9 years, and I've been visiting this place sice I was born, I even have relatives living in Vicuna and other parts of the Elqui Valley, so I know this place and it's stories like the palm of my hand. Our tour starts in the city of La Serena, the second eldest city of Chile, with beautiful Colonial architecture; our spanish heritage. Then we head to the town of Vicuña, to see the typical marketplaces, museum, the Solar Kitchen, etc. The Elqui Valley is a breathtaking place, with warm people and climate, promising one of the most wonderful sights of this part of the country.

My family and I had a wonderful tour of the Elqui Valley with Jaime. He was incredibly friendly, informative, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the region’s history, local families, and culture. Throughout the day, we visited a beautiful winery and pisco distillery, explored the charming town of Pisco Elqui, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and took in the stunning scenery of the valley. Jaime also shared excellent recommendations for the rest of our stay, including helpful tips for visiting La Serena. His warmth, professionalism, and passion for the area made the experience truly memorable. I would highly recommend Jaime to anyone looking for an outstanding tour guide in the Elqui Valley.

Our group of 8 adults absolutely loved our tour! Our guide Jaime, and his driver Marcelo picked us up at the cruise ship and took us to Elqui Valley. We saw the dam, the beautiful countryside, lovely small towns, and a beautiful church. Jaime treated us to delicious ice cream while we walked the town square. We had lunch in a small local restaurant where they cooked everything using solar boxes, so wonderful!! We then went to a small pisco distillery and had a tour and Pisco tasting. Jaime and Marcelo were so fun and full of stories of their city and country that they love. We would highly recommend this tour!

We had an absolutely delightful day with Jamie. Every place we went was wonderful. This is a lovely region. Highlights were the plaza in Vicuña, where we visited the church and had some of the best ice cream we have ever had, learning how pisco is made and sampling all of the different flavors, having lunch at Entree Cordillera restorer solar…that prepared food with solar energy and our final stop at the large cross. Jamie was informative and personable. It was an eight hour tour and time just flew by. We highly recommend Jamie.

We had an AMAZING day with Jaime! He gave us the history of La Serena and Elqui Valley along with a food tasting of the local specialties. And of course we visited a Pisco distillery! Jaime’s English is perfect and he is very enthusiastic to share his hometown with us. I highly recommend this tour!

Your La Serena tour itinerary

- Pick up at desired point - First stop at El Faro, La Serena's biggest Monument. - A little glimpse of the city town, on our way to the Elqui Valley. - Second stop at the Puclaro Damn. - Third stop in Vicuña; The Elqui Valley's main town, where we will visit the Bauer Tower, the Church and the local markets. - ABA destillery. - Lunch at The solar kitchens of Villaseca, a little town 5 minutes from Vicuña, wuere they use special kind of ovens to cook their equisite meals; a wonderful experience. - Head back to La Serena to have a little city tour, includind the ancient churches, La Recova Market, and it's main biuldings. - Back to the pick up point. The trip is extremely relaxing, the climate is always sunny in the valley, so just prepare for a place that you'll never forget.
