Hi and welcome to my profile! I am Franco, an enthusiast, passionate and independent local guide who has been working with travellers for almost 10 years. I have engaged with people from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America! I graduated as an English-Spanish translator in 2017 and since then I have been involved with foreigners. I always keep in mind that every tour is an opportunity to show the best I can do and what I can offer to my group. Furthermore, as added value to my tours I also provide my guests with useful material about the city (flyers, photographs or leaflets) so they can have a quick source of knowledge they can tap to on their own. For me, the most important aspects of every tour are to make sure my guests feel comfortable at every moment, ensuring that their valuable items are safely carried wherever we go. I always encourage travellers asking me for whatever they're interested to know, as well as to feel open to request any adaptation or change they may need. I also love receiving feedback to constantly grow into providing increasingly better experiences over time. Feel free to contact me for more information about the tours I can deliver! I will get back to you as soon as possible!

Let's explore the beautiful Elqui Valley, the home land of our 1945 Nobel Prize of Literature Gabriela Mistral. Throughout our day together, I'll help you get immersed in the valley's history and culture, going across its local villages, orchards and main landmarks. You'll get a glimpse of the local daily life and learn of its agricultural and astronomical practices, and even get to taste a traditional beverage made of grapes! Amongst the sights we'll see are the incredible Puclaro Dam (over half a kilometre tall concrete curtain), the emblematic Lighthouse of La Serena, and a variety of villages including Gualliguaica, the first local village of the XXI century. After more than 10 years of going around the valley, I have developed a genuine appreciation for its unique geography which is marked by its main river, the Elqui, a natural barrier between the desert and the Mediterranean climate.
-The tour will start once we've met either at the Coquimbo Terminal Port, following the way from the exit ramp to the entrance (a blue metal door), or directly in your lodging. -After that, we'll embark towards the valley, first stopping by a Pisco Plantation where you could taste (and buy) the typical Chilean pisco. -Afterwards, we could have lunch in a Chilean restaurant that cooks its meals with solar ovens. -Later, we'll go Downtown to Vicuña to visit its main square, where you could perhaps buy a local handicraft as a souvenir. -Right by the square is the Gabriela Mistral Museum, the Church of the Inmaculate Conception & El Molle Church, all of which we could visit if you'd like. -We'll then proceed to see the striking Bauer Tower before going back to La Serena. -On our way back, we'll visit the 545 m tall Puclaro Dam. -At last, we'll visit the Lighthouse of La Serena, and finally return to the port following the Avenue of the Sea, or otherwise be dropped off at your lodging.
