Hi Travelers! My name is Jaime, I'm a Professional English-Spanish Translator from the University of La Serena, my hometown and residence place, in Chile. I started working on tourism before I graduated, both freelance and for my local government, where I acquired a deep knowledge about my region; it's history, places of interest and traditions. I describe myself as a very outgoing guy, so I try to pass on that energy to my customers, in terms of keeping your attention whenever I show my city, because every corner of my region has a history and I'm always eager to let you know the details of everything, with an excellent English level and fun stories to share. Patience is one of my virtues, so If you have any mobility issues or require any type of special attention during our tour, I'll be more than glad to assist you. Since the most iconic places of my region are located outside of the city, I usually work with a professional driver who knows all my routes, has all his documentation, and maintains his vehicle to a high standard. This allows me to focus all of my attention on you, my dear guests. :) Welcome to La Serena! Jaime -Professional English Spanish Translator from state University of La Serena. -8 Years of experience on Tourism, deep knowledge of my region. None

Located 80 Km north from the City-Port of Coquimbo, Punta de Choros is a beautiful beach that belongs to the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve, that also groups a couple islands by the name of "Damas" and "Choros". It has a population of over 15. 000 Humboldt Penguins (Spheniscus Humboldti) and it's natural predators, the Chungungos, a local sea otter (Lontra Felina), Bottlenose dolhpins (Tursiops Truncatus), Sea wolfes (Otaria Flavescens), Calderon Dolphins (Grampus Griseus), and, sometimes, Humpback, Fin and even Blue whales! This is my favourite tour of all; I've experienced the most wonderful and closest animal experiences in my life while taking this trip, like riding on the boat with dolphins or whales next to us! The tour includes transportation, two and a half hours boat tour and lunch, everything on a captivating place, with turquoise waters, great climate and lots of wildlife to see and enjoy.
- I'll pick you at the Coquimbo's Port (or the point of your choice) - We will get a sight of La Serena and Coquimbo beaches, then we will inmediatly head to the town of Punta de Choros, it is an hour and a half to get there. - Once we get there, our Captain Tavo will be waiting for us, and PROVIDING CLIMATE CONDITIONS are good enough, our boat will take us to Isla Damas (90% of chances to ship, since this tour is developed mostly in summer time). If the Island is closed, we will move to the next port, called Chañaral de Aceituno (home of the whales). - Once the ride is finished, we'll have lunch at Punta de Choros or chañaral de aceituno local Restaurant. - If the time is right we will visit a local Olive grower were we are going to have a degustation of olives and olive oil, see the cultivation and olive oil making ''the old way'', and return to Coquimbo, taking the city road to have a little glimpse of the city of La Serena before heading to the port.

Our transportation method is a Mercedes Benz minibus, with AC, all safety belts, very clean and with a capacity of 12 people plus me and the driver. The vehicle is always checked before the tour. While on the tour place, we have to take a Boat with capacity of 12 people, for around two and a half hours.
