I'm born and have been living in Plovdiv all my life except for five and a half years when I was studying Tourism management in Varna and two long summers working as a student in a hotel in Maine, USA. I love traveling around the world to experience local cultures, meet different people, learn about them and explore ancient civilizations. I'm also very interested in hiking, cycling, skiing, beautiful music from all over the world and exciting books. I'm glad to show off my area as there are many amazing landmarks and sceneries to be discovered in Plovdiv region and Bulgaria. I have long years of experience in guiding guests from many countries with different backgrounds and from all ages. I'm a Bulgarian state licensed tour guide, knowledgeable about my country, positive and smiling, helpful and patient with my clients and always with a natural friendly approach. Plovdiv is an eternal city. Its foundations on the 7 hills by Maritza River were laid some 8 000 years ago. Plovdiv is older than Rome, Athens and Constantinople. The city is contemporary of Troy and Mycenae. It is the second oldest European city and the oldest still living city in Europe. Considered as the most beautiful city in Bulgaria Plovdiv was the European capital of culture in 2019.
We had a wonderful tour exploring Plovdiv with Kamen! He showed us so many things that we weren't aware of or didn't understand as we had walked around the city on our own, which made everything we saw so much more meaningful. Kamen is very knowledgeable, friendly and clearly loves history. We enjoyed his tour immensely!

Kamen is an amazing guide - he is very knowledgeable about Plovdiv. We really appreciated all the details he shared with us - it really enhanced our visit in Plovdiv. We saw several churches (each one unique) and great Roman ruins, among other things. Kamen speaks excellent English, tells great stories and has a wonderful sense of humor. I would definitely book with Kamen again and highly recommend him.
The walking tour of Plovdiv with Kamen was wonderful! Plovdiv is so lovely and so full of history! Everywhere you turn there are ruins and signs of ancient cultures. Kamen was very informative and personable. He is very proud of his city and it shows. Go to Plovdiv and make sure Kamen shows you around! Highly recommended.
We were a group of 9, and liked very much the guidance of Kamen. We had a 2.5 hour walking tour in Plovdiv. Kamen is very is knowledgeable and experienced. We were not bombarded with numbers and too much dates))). He advises us things to visit that we had no time to visit. During the tour self we visited and have seen beautiful Plovdiv highlights. We sure recommend Kamen!
Khamen was an AMAZING tour guide. Not only was he very knowledgeable about Plovdiv, he went out of his way to help us. We were in Plovdiv for a very special trip. My son was born there. This was his first trip to Bulgaria since we adopted him 21 years ago. For a very reasonable fee, he took us to the orphanage and Stolipinovo (the Romany ghetto). It is very likely my sons birth family lived/lives there. No other guide was willing to take us there. It was a deeply meaningful experience for us. THANK YOU!!!
