IMPORTANT: If calendar is unavailable, contact me! I MAY be available to make an exception during the rainy season! I was born on the island of Jamaica, West Indies, moved to the states and graduated from Columbia University as a civil engineer, lived in New York City most of my life, but escaped from America to live on Saipan in February of 2006! It's been one of the top 3 decisions I've ever made! Saipan is a tropical paradise! Since moving here, I have created numerous Saipan-related websites, written several books about Saipan's life/culture/economy, offered entrepreneurial workshops, written a business column for 5 years for the Saipan Tribune, and currently offer unique private Saipan day tours like the ones featured on ToursbyLocals to help others discover and experience the Saipan I know and love! As an island boy myself, with an engineer's attention to detail, an outsider's objectivity and an author's knack for narrative and nuance, I believe my saipan tours can offer you a glimpse of Saipan that few others can and that few visitors to the island will ever experience! 1. I am the recipient of SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15-54 by THE SENATE FIFTEENTH NORTHERN MARIANAS COMMONWEALTH LEGISLATURE recognizing me for "[my] numerous accomplishments with and without the Commonwealth; Expressing gratitude for [my] efforts for the betterment of the people of the Commonwealth" 2. I have researched and written the following books (a) Saipan Living, (b) Doing Business on Saipan, (c) Chicken Feathers & Garlic Skin: Diary of a Chinese Garment Factory Girl on Saipan (d) Jamaican on Saipan which have afforded me a unique perspective life, culture, business and politics on the island of Saipan 3. I have written a business column (The Saipanpreneur Project) for five years for the Saipan Tribune newspaper Visits to Mount Tapachao (also Tapatchao), the highest point on the island of Saipan will require rental of a special vehicle at additional charge. Walt, was a fantastic guide. We have a larger family with children of various ages. He was able to adjust and adapt to our needs as he explained the history, culture, and sites of the island. He made the tour fun and his knowledge was expansive. As my daughter said, “he made everything realistic.” If you’re coming to Saipan Walt is your man. We explored the whole of the...

Thanks for the kind words! It was an absolute pleasure exploring Saipan with your family. Your kids' curiosity and questions showed they were engaged throughout and absorbing the "lessons." Seeing their enthusiasm for the tour content while at the same time sharing their own interests and passions with me made the tour more enjoyable. Wishing you all even more incredible...

1000% recommend this tour! Walt was absolutely the best guide we've ever had! We had two full days of touring on Saipan and Tinian. He OVER-DELIVERED on our experience and we are so grateful! We are a homeschooling family of two children, ages 6 and 8. He accommodated our needs and tailored it to meet our objectives. Having visited Nagasaki and Hiroshima, we felt a...

Thanks, Angela! I, too, learned a lot from spending time with your family! Seeing the children's immersion and appreciation of the history was really fascinating. Thanks for finding me!

Walt has excellent knowledge of Saipan and Tinian. He was professional, pleasant and punctual. He was interested in us, the reasons for our visit, and our expectations. My wife and I visited Saipan and Tinian primarily to walk in my dad's WWII footsteps and to gain insight into the role the islands played during the war. I brought 80 year old pictures that my dad had in...

Hey Alan, Peggy! Your unique reason for visiting Saipan (i.e., the "then & now" location request) yields precisely the sort of adventure that is the most fulfilling and personally rewarding. The quest itself is an enjoyable activity, but being able to connect you with your dad in this way adds more meaning to the affair. It was my honor to be a part of such a personal...

A friend and I decided to extend our time in the South Pacific by visiting Saipan on our own. We were looking for both a hiking experience and to learn about the history of Saipan. Walt did an outstanding job of addressing both of these requests. We utilized his usual itinerary as the basis to begin and adjusted as we went. We began with a hike to Forbidden Island. He...

Hey Sue! It was great hanging out with the two of you! By the way, thanks for introducing me to the AllTrails app. Next time I head to Forbidden Island, I'll add a trail for others who wish to share in the adventures! Have fun on your future tours!
