I was born on the island of Jamaica, West Indies, moved to the states and graduated from Columbia University as a civil engineer, lived in New York City most of my life, but escaped from America to live on Saipan in February of 2006! It's been one of the top 3 decisions I've ever made! Saipan is a tropical paradise! Explore the history and mystery of Saipan with an award-winning, government-recognized guide! Me! Originally from the island of Jamaica, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University, and relocated from New York City to Saipan in February of 2006. Through numerous independent undertakings, I have sought to express love for my new home and to promote the lifestyle, history and culture and people of the CNMI and the region both locally and to the world. I have written 7 books, launched over 20 websites, written a weekly column in the Saipan Tribune. In 2007, I received a Senate Resolution in recognition of "[my numerous accomplishments with and without the Commonwealth; Expressing gratitude for [my] efforts for the betterment of the people of the Commonwealth, " AND, was the 2021 recipient of the Governor's Humanities Award for Research and Publication in the Humanities, Outstanding Humanities Teacher, and Preservation of CNMI History.
We had a great day with Walt on Saipan. He was proactive in communicating with us before the tour to make sure our interests on Saipan would be addressed, and was flexible during the tour to accommodate our requests. Let me just say that Walt took Saipan's war history experience to a whole new level! Not only was he patient and knowledgeable about each and every detail, he made me feel as if I was living the experience in real time.
