Guide #54019

Hi, my name is Sabrina and I'd love to be your future tour guide in Leipzig! I hail from Nuremberg, Franconia, originally, but I moved to Leipzig ten years ago to further my education, and instantly fell in love with the city. So after years of showing my loved ones around, I realized I actually wanted to do this professionally for foreign visitors too. Let me show you why I was so impressed with this city that I “forced” my friends & family to spend an entire weekend with me celebrating my first birthday here, where I guided them along all my favourite sites. This is what ultimately gave me the idea to sign up for the IHK-certification, a qualification process that is mandatory to be offically recognized as a tourguide for the City of Leipzig, and proudly approved all final tests to become a tour guide. Since then I have done over 500 tours and shared my love for this city with people from all over the world – I would be happy if you’re the next one! Besides being a tour guide for over 4 years, I'm also a member of the Leipzig Tour Guide Association Gästeführungen Leipzig und Umland e.V and of the Bvgd – the Bundesverband Deutscher Gästeführer e.V. Additionally i am a guide of the Bachmuseum in Leipzig. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Media Science, as well as in English Cultural Studies. I also have an educational background in event concept design – which enhances my ability to customize every tour according to your needs. I will also gladly point out the best restaurants and bars, and make sure you don’t miss any cultural highlight during your stay. So I'd love to welcome you to the city of Bach and Faust, the city of waterways, of arts and books, of the imperial trade fair and the cradle of the women's right movement. Since 2021, when Lonely Planet put it in the very first spot in its list of Ultimate Travel in Germany, its popularity increased, but in a way it still feels like the best kept secret touristic destination in the country. That being said, every distinguished classical music lover would surely disagree with this statement, since Lepzig would have been on their radar due to its 800 years of music tradition. And this was finally acknowledged in September 2025, when Leipzig was named "Best Global Music City“ in the "Music City Awards" international competition held in Fayetteville, Arkansas (USA). Historically speaking, it's very different to its‘ posh and crowded saxonian sister city Dresden. Leipzig has always been a city of the people, and its peaceful revolution was a driving force for the unification of Germany. Believe me, besides history being made in Leipzig many times before, there is always something going on in present day Leipzig, just as is the case in Berlin. I even dare to say, Leipzig is the nicer Berlin! But you'll probably want to see it for yourself. If you do, I can‘t wait to show you!
