It took only 3 days until I realized I would stay in Vietnam for good. Its my passion to show you why. Giving tours is something I have been doing for a while, but I joined this platform recently. So do check out my Google Reviews to see what other guests thought about going a day along with me! https://maps.app.goo.gl/KCNw3WWCS2J3fvxeA at ExploreVNdaily. My name is Zeb, and actually becoming a local took more time but many years later, I can now proudly say that I speak Tiếng Việt, understand and participate in local culture as much, or more, than even my Vietnamese wife and still enjoy it every day! These days I mostly go by my Vietnamese name Duy :) Ever since my graduation I have worked as a teacher which means explaining in a story form is something I enjoy and never get tired of. My constant learning and discovery of local Vietnamese life combined with my teaching background naturally led me to become a tour guide. Now I get to be outside in my community, sharing the what, why and how! Back in November 2017 I started my Vietnamese journey in Hanoi. Its the place that showed me Vietnamese life; culture, scooters, Vietnamese cuisine.. and eventually, love. Fast forward and I have been happily married since 2022. My journey has now brought me, since that same year, to Hội An as a my new home base. Both Hue and Da Nang to my North and Tam Ky to the south and everything in between are places I know as well as my own backyard. Each place with their own history, culture and local food. One of the great things about Vietnam, is that no matter how small the area is, if you know the locals, you will find something unique! What makes my tours special is my ability to connect Vietnamese ancient customs and unseen nuances to your daily experience while being in Vietnam. Making more sense of this country, while having fun along the way in relatable language.

Hoi An's world famous Old Town has plenty to offer, if you look beyond the shops and mass tourism... and know where to go. Having lived in Vietnam for 8 years and Hoi An for 4, this town has a special place in my heart. There is no way around it, Old Town itself is a tourist trap. However... It is also arguably the largest well preserved ancient town in Asian that has survived the ages. And it is filled up with history and culture that is super interesting and worth the visit. Without someone to show you this context however, the shops and tourism will feel overwhelming. So take a stroll down memory lane with me as we uncover the beauty of Hoi An's lesser taken paths. Combined with local drinks and a traditional Buddhist meal hidden away in the ancient alleys. Pick up from the port and drive to Hoi An. The walk through Old Town can be done in the morning or afternoon and takes about 3-4 hours. We start at the old market where we sit down with a trà đá and get to know each other. We then walk into the old center and depending on our conversation we will enter a total of 5 ancient temples, houses, community halls and ancient bridge. Each of these locations has stories and details where you can ask as much as you want, I have read and talked about these places for years now, so try me! We pass by an almost life size replica of the old trade ships that passed through Hoi An and take a break with a drink at a cafe popular among the Vietnamese. We finish with a walk through the hidden alleys to have either lunch or dinner in authentic Buddhist fashion.

Pick up and drop off by car with a private driver. In Hoi An itself we walk around the old town with multiple breaks.
