Colonia Shore Excursion with Wine Tasting & Vintage Car Museum Visit

Discover the charm of Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage city filled with cobblestone streets, colonial houses, and river views. On this tour, besides the historic quarter, we'll stroll along the vineyards of Los Cerros de San Juan Winery, the oldest one in Uruguay, founded in 1854. Together we'll explore its stone cellars, as you learn about the region’s winemaking tradition and about the Lahusen family. You'll also enjoy a guided tasting of selected wines paired with local cheeses. In addition to the winery, we'll also be stopping at the C’ARS Museum, home to a fascinating collection of vintage cars, tools and period décor that recreate the spirit of early automotive history. And once you're back in Colonia’s old town after our day together, you'll be able to stroll through the quiet streets or enjoy a drink by the Río de la Plata at sunset. This experience blends culture, history and nostalgia, appealing to both wine and car lovers.

-After we've gathered, we'll first head to Colonia del Sacramento's historic quarter where I'll give you a brief introduction to Colonia’s colonial past. -Following that, we'll start driving along Route 21 towards the countryside. -Around 45 minutes later, we'll arrive to Los Cerros de San Juan Winery and enjoy a guided tour of its stone cellar and fermentation rooms. -Around an hour later, it'll be time to taste signature local wines like the Tannat and the Sauvignon Blanc, paired with local cheeses or artisanal bread. -Afterwards, we'll drive back to Colonia, enjoying the scenic countryside on our way to the C’ARS Museum. -Once we get to the museum, you'll enjoy seeing vintage cars, tools, gas pumps, and period décor which recreate early 20th-century workshops—a nostalgic journey for all ages. -At last, we'll return to Historic Quarter for a final stroll across its cobblestone streets, where you'll also be able to visit artisan shops or just relax at a riverside café.
