I'm a tour guide in Uruguay that likes to show visitors regular touristic places but also, some others that are not so common. My guests will hear unusual stories about our history, music hits, sports epics, traditions, culture, and after that, I'm absolutely sure they will have a different impression of our "little great" country. . . . I was guiding tours in my country since 1996. In 2004, I was leading and coordinating transportation services for the US Forces during the XLVI UNITAS multinational maritime exercises, Atlantic Phase in Uruguay. Presidential visits to our country with their committees like George Bush, Raúl Chavez and Nicolás Maduro But also my activity as a Sports Journalist broadcaster since 1980, gave me possibility to participate in two Olympic Games, other two Pan American Games, a World Basketball Champion, several "Americas" Basketball qualifying tournaments for them, letting me knowing many countries, people and cultures. I was guiding tours in my country since 1996. Before that my main activity was as a Sports Journalist, broadcasting since 1980. This gave me the possibility to participate in two Olympic Games, other two Panamerican Games, a World Basketball Champion, several "Americas" Basketball qualifying tournaments for them, letting me knowing many countries, people and cultures. UNESCO declared it as a "world heritage" and you can experience the feeling of being in a colonial past. . . . In the way from Montevideo, we can appreciate lots of milking farms with their particular Holland cows, and also some corn, soy beans and wheat plantations. Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital is a nice city that has many beaches and a beautiful promenade. It’s architectural influences came from Europe and the city has lots of green areas.

Herbert was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable about the area and Uruguay in general. He taught us a lot about the history of the country, and was very accommodating to whatever we wanted to do on our tour, even took us on multiple detours depending on our interests and things we had just learned about and wanted to see. He was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the day. His van is also EXTREMELY comfortable and was a very luxurious way to get from Colonia to Montevideo, and he dropped us off right at our Airbnb. I would highly recommend this tour with Herbert, it was an awesome day!

Hebert was knowledgeable and friendly. He was on time meeting us at the dock, and gracious and accomodating. We learned a lot about Uruguay. However, our group of 4 felt that there was a lot of driving to get to Colonia del Sacramento (over 2 hours each way). At the end of our tour, Hebert showed us around Montevideo - the old town and parts of the new per our request to see both. Even though we liked Colonia, we would have been just as happy to spend the day touring Montevideo and visit its museums.
