Aloha, I'm Eli! I was born and raised on Hawaiʻi Island, and my family's roots run deep. Growing up, I spent countless hours in the mountains (ma uka), in the ocean (ma kai), and with my ʻohana (family), learning the values, traditions, and way of life that continue to shape who I am today. Over the years, I've had the privilege of welcoming guests from around the world, and one of the greatest joys of guiding is sharing the Hawaiʻi I know and love through a Native Hawaiian perspective. As a Native Hawaiian, it's an honor to share the moʻolelo (stories and history), traditions, and places that have been passed down through generations. Every tour reflects my deep connection to this island and my desire to help others experience Hawaiʻi with respect, understanding, and aloha. Whether we're exploring Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, casting a line along the shoreline, or visiting wahi pana (storied and culturally significant places), my goal is to help you experience Hawaiʻi like a local through authentic experiences, meaningful connections, and the stories that give each place meaning. I believe the best experiences happen through connection - to the land, to the culture, and to one another. Every tour is an opportunity to share local history, cultural traditions, and the aloha that continues to shape our way of life. If there's something specific you'd like to experience while you're on Hawaiʻi Island, I'd be happy to create a customized itinerary tailored to your interests. Whether it's spending more time in nature, exploring local favorites, or venturing off the beaten path, I'll do my best to make it happen. Mahalo for considering me as your guide. I look forward to welcoming you to Hawaiʻi Island and sharing the places, people, and stories that make this island so special!

Experience the beauty and resilience of East Hawaiʻi on Discover Huakaʻi Puna. Huakaʻi means "journey" in Hawaiian, and this experience invites you to connect with the island's dynamic landscapes, rich culture, and deep sense of place. The places we'll visit helped shape who I am. It's my privilege to share their stories, history, and beauty with you through a Native Hawaiian perspective. Travel through historic Pāhoa Town, visit the beautiful Star of the Sea Painted Church, and continue toward Kalapana and ʻOpihikao, where lava has continually reshaped both the landscape and the communities that call Puna home. Along the way, hear moʻolelo (stories and history), cultural traditions, and local insights. At Pohoiki, take in the dramatic black sand shoreline and, if conditions allow, enjoy an optional swim. Continue through Four Corners and Kapoho before visiting Lava Tree State Monument (when open). Discover why Puna is a place that stays with you long after the journey ends.
