Hi everyone. I am a retired professor and teacher. I taught in middle and high schools, colleges, and universities. I began teaching history and social science classes in August 1981 and continued to December 2015. This led to a comfortable segue into conducting tours by 2000 to share with tourists the information that I had been teaching. I have three collegiate degrees and multiple teaching certificates. I will inundate you with information about the history, government, politics, diversity, growth, economy, businesses, demography, climate, geography, topography, sociology, arts and architecture, taxation, transit, and more of the area and Texas. I will share stories with you about famous and infamous Texans; some are true, some are folklore. I have a dry sense of humor. My intent is to entertain and educate you. I enjoy sharing knowledge with you so that you have a good time and will want to return to or stay longer in our fair city. 1. Certified tour guide with the Professional Tour Guides Association of Houston, 2. Member of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2001. 3. Certified Travel Ambassador (CTA) trained and member since 2014. 4. Tour guide since 2000. 5. Master tour guide for the City of Houston's Multicultural Tours in 2003 and 2004. 6. Included in AAA Tour Books since 2011. I can take up to nine people with their luggage in our full-size van. I pick-up and drop-off people at cruise terminals. I take tourists to museums, and let them tour exhibits at their own pace, telling them what time we need to meet again at the van.

Space Center Houston (SCH), sometimes referred to as the Johnson Space Center (JSC), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the second most popular tourist destination in Houston (after shopping) and one of the most popular sites in the nation. Going to the moon in particular has been an inspiration and source of pride to much of humankind. We will run you around the complex to see everything possible in the time that you have there. We want to give you an out-of-this-world experience. During the months of December, January, and February, heavy fog can delay the docking of cruise ships for potentially hours.
Keith was very knowledgeable. We received a great tour of downtown Galveston including history lessons of historic places as we left the cruise port and traveled to Buc-ees. The space center tour was fantastic, even had other people trying to listen in as he explained about the rockets and Apollo missions. Appreciate his willingness to modify the tour for our interests. Highly recommend!

Keith was an excellent tour guide who provided a very thorough tour of Galveston and it's history followed by a tour of Space Centre Houston. His knowledge is both broad and in-depth on a number of subjects. His anecdotal stories and pieces of trivia add a personal interesting flair to the tour. He even threw in a pit stop to Bucee's roadside stop which was a welcome surprise. I would emphatically recommend Keith to anyone looking to do a tour he offers.
We have used Tours by Local in other Countries but never in the USA before, we were on a cruise out of Galveston and needed to get to Houston airport we had 9 hours to "kill" so we booked a tour with Keith!!! WOW, so glad we did! His unbelievable knowledge of so many things in the area, so easy to talk to, his desire to make it a tour you will LOVE and learn so much about so many things, and honestly at the end wish your tour would not be over! 9:00 - 9:20 AM - Find each other in the Cruise Ship Terminal. Introductions, load the luggage, and enter the van. 9:20 - 9:50 AM - Drive to Buc-ee's in Texas City. 9:50 - 10:20 AM - Bathroom and refreshments break. 10:20 - 10:40 AM - Drive to SCH. 10:40 - 10:50 AM - Orient the clients to the locations of different activities and bathrooms, take photos, and check on getting tickets for the Astronauts Training Facility (ATF). 10:50 AM - 12:20 PM - Tram ride to Rocket Park and Independence Plaza. See Mercury and Saturn V rockets. Narrative tour. 12:20 - 1:00 PM - Go to the ATF or see the movie Human Destiny. Go through the Starship Gallery history museum. Narrative tour. 1:00 - 1:45 PM - Lunch at The Food Lab Cafeteria. 1:45 - 2:00 PM - Shop in the SCH Store. If the clients are flying out of HOU or staying at a hotel in downtown or close to HOU, we can add additional activities. 2:00/2:30 - 3:00 PM - The drive to IAH takes 1 hour. The drive to HOU takes 30 minutes.
