Originally from Portland, Oregon, I fell in love with Alaska during a January trip in 2019 and made Fairbanks my permanent home the following summer. My journey in local tourism began as a shuttle driver transporting guests to an Aurora destination, where I quickly discovered my passion for sharing local history and stories along the route. Since then, I have guided tours across Alaska, constantly acquiring books along the way, and learning everything I can about this amazing state. But no matter where I travel, coming back to Fairbanks always feels like coming home. My tours aim to share what makes the Golden Heart City special. You can expect deep dives into local history, native culture, and gold rush lore, plus hot springs and the adaptations needed to live and thrive in the subarctic environment. I keep my tours relaxed, conversational, and tailored to your interests, ensuring that you leave with not just great photos, but a true local's perspective on life in the Far North.

Visit the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, see the musk oxen at LARS, choose between the Museum of the North at UAF and the Threads and Treads Collection at the Fountainhead Auto Museum, or go see Santa Claus in North Pole. I will drive you from door to door safely, even in winter road conditions, and tell stories along the way. Stop at a drive-thru coffee hut for hot drinks or snacks just like a local. Perfect for families, small groups, or independent travelers who want to see all the best in Fairbanks. The following itinerary is a suggestion and can be fully customized within the time allowed. Just ask!
- Your adventure starts when your guide meets you at your arranged pickup spot. You then drive out to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline to learn about Alaska's biggest engineering project. - Next, we head across town to the Large Animal Research Station to spot Musk Oxen and Bison and learn about how they keep warm in the Arctic cold. - After we leave the animals, we head to the museum. The UAF Museum of the North features displays from all regions of Alaska, both historical and artistic. - When we finish up with the museum, we might need some refreshment. Drive thru coffee culture is big in Fairbanks. We will stop for coffee and snacks to enjoy on our way down to visit Santa Claus. - The Santa Claus House is a long-time favorite in the city of North Pole. Shop for Christmas decor, say hello to Santa himself, and get a photo with the biggest Santa Claus statue. You will have about 45 minutes to an hour to shop, then it's time to head right back to where we started.
