Aspen, Colorado has been my home for over 20 years and I love sharing its treasures and guiding others to all the fun & enlightening experiences that surround us. Being a passionate world traveler myself, I believe in trying to achieve an understanding and a sense of place of where you are visiting not only helps bring you closer to that community but also to ourselves. Aspen is known for its surrounding natural beauty as well as its arts and culture that lead to the balance of mind, body & spirit. Having guided many guests on tours for the past 15 years keeps that Aspen Idea in reach. I enjoy tapping into Aspen's history reflected in its built environment and surrounding natural landscape. The mountains and river scenery surrounding us help to portray the valley as hunting and fishing grounds of the native Ute people. The Victorian buildings and houses sprinkled throughout downtown and adjoining neighborhoods illustrate the stories of the mining pioneers and barons during the rise of the silver boom of the late 1800's. The modern and chalet style architecture of homes from the 1950's to present day tell the story of Aspen's rebirth of a ski town to world famous resort.
This tour begins in the heart of downtown Aspen and weaves through the downtown core and into Victorian neighborhoods. Depending on the participants and the weather this tour can stretch a wider net across town and into some natural gems. • Tour begins near the historic Wheeler Opera House • Walk to central open space to capture mountain views • Stroll along Aspen's pedestrian mall • Visit John Denver Sanctuary • Walk through historic West End Victorian neighborhood All my tours can be customized upon request
