Hello! My name is Florence and I would be thrilled to host you on a tour. I have lived and worked in Bristol for 17 years and I LOVE this city and the stunning countryside around us. My great passion is food. I have been working in food for over a decade, with a focus on local and sustainable food systems, as well as education and communication. I'm passionate about excellent food and drink, and thinking about how we can produce this in such a way that is nourishing for our souls and our planet. We are spoilt for choice in Bristol and North Somerset for incredible produce, restaurants, bars and more. I love nothing more than sharing these fantastic stories and flavours, and my knowledge and passion about food, farming and flavour. I have been hosting food and drink tours in the area for two years. My tours are fun, informal and informative. As well, as enjoying amazing food and drink, you'll have the opportunity to explore this amazing part of the world and I'll share local history and insights along the way. I know great spots for music and art, the best bars, beautiful walks and more. Here's what a few happy customers have to say! Such an epic Bristol food tour! Florence brings such great energy. Fun, friendly, informative, delicious.... Brilliantly well organised and Florence was a great host and chauffeur. The venues were all fascinating and well chosen and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Had a wonderful afternoon on a tour with Florence, she is a very engaging person who holds the attention of her audience with her knowledge and information and has very high ethical standards when it comes to food production. She obviously does her research well and knows so much about not only the venues she takes you to which are all independent and use locally source ingredients but also about Bristol itself. So unique and a really fun way to spend an afternoon.

Head to Cheddar through the stunning gorge, explore the village before sampling the only Cheddar made in Cheddar and see how it is made. Finally, finish up with a pint of local cider in a quirky cider barn before heading back to Bristol! All along the way you'll discover just how passionate our region is about amazing flavours produced ethically and sustainably! Depending on the opening hours and availability of venues, some of our stops may change - but we'll chat through when you enquire! The tour lasts 6 to 7 hours.

Your Bristol tour itinerary

We'll begin with a stunning lunch in the Michelin-starred Pony Chew Valley. Explore the beautiful herb and rose garden, take a wander through the market garden and nibble on some fresh produce! You'll also enjoy a locally produced beer or wine (or non-alcoholic alternative) with your meal. Next, I'll whisk you over to the Yeo Valley, where we'll visit the famous dairy farm, take a walk through their organic gardens and stop for a tea or coffee and a sweet treat in their cafe, showcasing their exceptional dairy products. Next, to the Cheddar Valley. I'll drive us through the awe-inspiring Cheddar Gorge, to the charming village of Cheddar. Have a wander and pop into a variety of interesting and odd shops before we head to the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company. See how they make the only Cheddar made in Cheddar and get stuck into a cheese tasting! Our final stop is a quirky cider barn. Have a pint of local cider (or something else if cider isn't your thing!). A perfect West Country treat to finish the day.
