Overview of your Bristol tour

What have John Wesley Methodist Preacher, Blackbeard the Pirate and John Cabot the first European to discover the coast of North America all got in Common? The answer is Bristol, and you can meet them all on a walk round the harbour and centre of the city. For nearly 800 years Bristol was a major port. It was second only to London and explorers, merchants and privateers set sail from here in search of fame and fortune, returning with untold wealth to build a city with both a glittering and dark past. Come along with me to get the low down on both sides, to discover the hidden back streets among cutting edge architecture and on the way we can spot some amazing street art including a Banksy or two. For me Bristol has a special energy past and present and has never ceased to be in the vanguard - first UK city to be awarded European Green Capital and then named UKs most environmentally friendly city. Let me introduce you to this amazing place.

Your Bristol tour itinerary

On the tour, we will spend 3 hours in central Bristol. • This will include a walk around Bristol Harbour side once a busy port where ships set sail to and returned from all over the world with tobacco, rum, sugar, and wine. Everything that was bad for you but such fun!! • We will continue to Cathedral Green to see the outside of the Cathedral and admire all 3 stages of Gothic Architecture; Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular. • From there we can continue to the oldest part of the city around Old King Street before heading to the Haymarket for the New Rooms - the Oldest Methodist Church in the World. The tour is around the streets of Bristol and does not include entrance into any of the monuments we will be visiting. Should you wish to extend the tour to go inside the Cathedral or New Rooms or take a bus ride to the Suspension Bridge, the tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire!
