Only 15 min from Dubai we reach the neighbouring, less famous, but most authentic emirate of Sharjah, which has been named the Islamic Culture Capital 2014. In 1998 it was chosen by UNESCO to be the Culture Capital of the Arab World. Join me off the beaten track and let me introduce you to its history and culture. It's a hidden gem with lots to offer. There are 16 amazing museums to choose from, however I do realize museums are not for everyone. Sharjah is also the perfect place to shop for good bargains in the traditional souqs. You can find beautiful silver and gold jewellery, Pashmina scaves, home decor items, carpets etc. We will meet the locals in the bustling fishmarket and visit the small, but beautiful and interesting Heritage Museum in the Heart of Sharjah. One highlight of the tour is always the delicious lunch in an authentic Emirati Restaurant. Our tour is private, we are flexible and spend a memorable day in Sharjah together. Sharjah is the most traditional Emirate of the seven United Arab Emirates. It is the perfect place to get an idea how life was like before oil was discovered.
