Our walking tour of Old Dubai was a highlight of our trip. In a region that celebrates opulence, it was refreshing to hear the original history of the first merchants from Iran, to understand the old dwellings and wind towers. Dana is both insightful on historical Dubai and presents a balanced view on the current cultural, religious and legal realities of living in an Emirates. We enjoyed traditional food / tea / coffee and the spice market offered an opportunity to bring home new spices.

Not only is she an amazing and well prepared guide, she is personable and about the nicest person you could find. We learned so much about old Dubai, its founding, how the early settlers lived, and more. We loved the visiting the souks with a local to explain the ins and outs of things. We also spent time at a particular spice souk vendor who let us try so many unique flavors and products unique to the area. Without any doubt, you really need to book time with Dana if you are going to be in Dubai. You, too, will find this to be the highlight of your trip.

Dana was outstanding and completely exceeded our expectations! This was the perfect introduction to old Dubai and the souks for our family of 6. Dana made some changes in order for this tour to work perfectly for our schedule including accommodating one of my children with nut allergies. She brought us through the souks, stopping for samples of karak tea, spices, dubai chocolates, and local Indian food. Her knowledge of Dubai is incredible, and she provided us with a great overview as well as expertly answered all our questions. She also helped guide us since we wanted to make some purchases in the gold souk- with her advice we got great deals on a gold bracelet for my wife, a gold necklace for my daughter, shawls, spices, and of course Dubai chocolates! Even my teenagers who aren't always fans of guided tours loved this experience, thank you Dana!

Dana is amazing! I had a 6 hour layover and she gave me a great 3 hour tour of old Dubai. I learned so much about the culture and history of Dubai. We enjoyed a lovely meal along the creek and had such a great and interesting conversation. I knew nothing about Dubai when I arrived but left the tour wanting to come back and explore more and feel like I now have a new friend in Dubai.
