Hello my name is Junalyn, you can simply call me Jo. I am a licensed and Philippine Department of Tourism accredited local tour guide from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. I have been a licensed local tour guide since I finished my college degree in 2009. These are complimented with the kindest and most hospitable people who are very disciplined too! I am blessed to call Puerto Princesa, Palawan my home while others dream of it as a vacation destination. Our City is hailed as the cleanest and greenest City in the country due to the combined efforts of the locals and the government to preserve and conserve the beauty of our place. It is also home to one the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World - the Puerto Princesa Underground River that is very famous for its longest navigable underground river with some of the most unique and iconic rock formations that is make it truly a wonder of nature. The northern part of Palawan is where you can find the world-famous El Nido which boasts several of the nicest beaches and clearest lagoons in the country, if not in the world. Having visited and experienced many tour spots in Puerto Princesa and province of Palawan, both off-beaten spots and regular tourist destinations, made me confident in designing and customizing tours according to guests' needs. Further, during off-season in the island, I usually spend my free time in joining trips conducted by my colleagues to further enhance my knowledge about other interesting places within the province I live in. Underground River propelled Puerto Princesa City to be in the tourism Map in the Philippines. This site houses an 8. 2km river that goes into a cave system with natural formations and a lot of unique features that makes it outstanding and be rightful for its title as of of the seven wonders of nature. From your requested pick-up location, guests will embark on a 1. 5-hour van ride to reach Sabang port where motorized tourist boats are lined-up to take travelers to the national park with a 30-minute boat ride. At the site, guests will enjoy a 45-minute paddle boat tour inside the cave in the allowed section of the park which is 1. 5km in length. On a fine weather we might encounter some wild animals like long tailed macaques and monitor lizards freely roaming around the area. After the tour, free lunch is provided in a local restaurant mainly serving Filipino food. After lunch we will be bring you back to your hotel or dropoff location.
Junalyn and her driver Bogs were excellent. They were super organized and made sure we got to the drop off point before the cruise lines arrived so we did not have to wait. They knew the area well and were accommodating when we wanted to skip lunch and do a little shopping instead. We would highly recommended them.
Junalyn was fantastic. She kept in touch before the cruise and answered many questions. She was prompt and everything was handled so well that we had plenty of extra time for lunch and shopping. The Underground River tour was beautiful. The lunch was great as well. Junalyn was informative and has a lovely personality. Driver Eugene safely navigated the curvy road to get there. This was a great tour and Junalyn is a great tour guide. The Underground River is amazing, a “Must See” if you are in The Philippines. I highly recommend this tour. Sorry for the late review. I just now realized that I got very busy enjoying The Philippines and forgot to provide feedback.
We have a fabulous time with Junalyn. Everything works according to the itinerary and we are one of the very first groups to go into the cave. I later on find out some guests who join the cruise excursion was not able to make it into the cave. Last but not least, one of us is not aware he has left a wallet in the vehicle. Junalyn n driver returned the wallet in one piece.
Below is a sample itinerary, this is fully - customizable depending on your flight/ship arrival or your preferred time: - Departure from Puerto Princesa Port/Airport/Hotel - Arrival in Sabang Port/Queue for boat ride to National Park - Estimated Arrival in Park/Cave Tour (45minutes), Back to Sabang Port - Free Lunch - Depart Sabang Port to Puerto Princesa Port - Back to Puerto Princesa Port/Airport/Hotel Important reminders: 1. The tour is provided with private AC Van however the however the paddle boat tour inside the cave is always shared with 8-10 people as strict park policy. 2. The park imposes a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE RULE. It is best to start as early as possible to get ahead of larger groups and experience better weather. 3. Wear water shoes/slippers/flipflops. Expect to get wet up to knee level during boarding and disembarking boats. 4. Plastic bottled waters are not allowed to be brought in the national park.
