Explore Puerto Princesa your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Puerto Princesa tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Puerto Princesa for every interest, including:

Layover tours: If you have a few hours, do a city loop to Baywalk Park, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel, and Baker’s Hill, or in the evening join an Iwahig River firefly watching tour by paddle boat.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Take a permitted trip to the Puerto Princesa Underground River with a guided boat ride into the cave, or spend a day island‑hopping in Honda Bay to snorkel around Luli, Cowrie, or Starfish Island.

Adventure tours: Try caving and the zipline at Ugong Rock near Sabang, add the Sabang X Zipline over the beach, or paddle through the Sabang mangrove forest with a local ranger.

Tricycles work for short city hops, but for the Underground River or Honda Bay you’ll want private transportation; you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide to include a vehicle.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Puerto Princesa inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Puerto Princesa

Base yourself in Puerto Princesa, then branch out to nearby beaches, islands, rivers, and small towns for easy day trips that fit your pace, with private tours keeping the plan flexible.

- Puerto Princesa Subterranean River (Sabang): A UNESCO-listed cave where you ride a paddle boat into large chambers to see limestone formations, swallows, and bats; permits are required, and your tour can handle timing and add the Sabang mangrove paddle if you want more wildlife.

- Honda Bay Island Hopping: Jump between sandbars and small islands for clear water, beginner-friendly snorkelling over coral gardens, and a simple beach lunch; gear hire is easy, and your tour can choose Cowrie Island, Luli Island, and Pambato Reef based on tides and how long you want to swim.

- Nagtabon Beach: A wide west coast beach with mellow waves and big sunsets, good if you want a quiet shore day without crowds or loud music, and close enough for an unhurried afternoon and a swim before dinner back in the city.

- Estrella Falls (Narra): Cool mountain water and shaded pools about two hours south, with views of rice fields along the way; a good freshwater break for families or anyone who wants a calm dip, and your tour can pair it with a stop at a small town market or a coastal lookout.

- Iwahig Firefly Watching: An evening river glide under mangroves where fireflies and plankton light up the dark; plan this as a late-day trip since it’s best on clear, moonless nights, and transport there and back is straightforward with your tour.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Puerto Princesa most travellers miss.
