I am a passionate lover of nature and knowledge. As your guide, I won’t just give you dates and facts—I’ll help you experience Panama through its cultural richness, the mindset of its people, and the small details that make everyday life so unique. I always aim to be respectful of all beliefs, religions, and cultures. I started giving tours as part of a family business, and along the way, I discovered how much I enjoy connecting with people and sharing meaningful stories. Even though I’m a Psychologist by profession, Tourism has become one of my greatest passions. What I enjoy most about being a guide is offering a deeper cultural analysis of Panamanian society. I love history and I’m always studying and learning more about the daily lives, habits, and values of local communities. I believe that understanding how people live and think is one of the most enriching parts of travelling. My favourite place? The Emberá communities along the Chagres River. Surrounded by nature and far from the noise of the city, it’s a place where culture, peace, and beauty come together in a truly unforgettable way.

Get ready for a day full of nature, animals, and history! We’ll ride a boat through Gatun Lake, deep into the Panama Canal rainforest, where wildlife is everywhere. We'll explore Monkey Islands and spot monkeys, tropical birds, and maybe even crocodiles or sloths! It’s like a real-life jungle safari—perfect for families, couples, or nature lovers. We’ll also visit the Panama Canal Visitors Center, one of the world’s greatest engineering feats. I’ll guide you through how this 111-year-old wonder was built and why it’s still so important today. The first time I saw the Canal as a kid, I was blown away. It’s wild to think humans can split continents to connect the world. That moment stuck with me—and now I get to share it with you. Plus, I’m certified in first aid and trained for emergencies, so you can relax and enjoy the adventure safely.
This tour with Dani was the best guided tour we have ever had anywhere. She had a deep understanding of her tour, able to answer all questions with ease and context. She was friendly, energetic, well organized, and our admission to the Miraflores Visitor Centre and Monkeyboat tour were included in her fee. The monkey boat tour was absolutely amazing- we had close encounters with wild monkeys. Her vehicle was comfortable and quiet. What a wonderful day we had.
Our guide , Daniela was great. She has knowledge of the history of Panama, she was on time, drove us around safely and knew the local people when we took a boat. We felt safe and because of her training and her passion in Latin America history we discussed many interesting and up to date topics. She is great!
This was an amazing tour. Very much recommend. Daniela was very knowledgeable.
Daniela was wonderful on our tour. She possesses a lot of knowledge of the various wildlife and Panamanian history. I highly recommend her as a tour guide!
What a perfect day. Bravo!
We have used Tours by Locals about 15 times around the world, and Daniela was one of the best we have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable, engaging, personable and highly attentive to our needs. The 6.5 hour tour turned into an 8 hour adventure due to one of the main bridges being closed that day, but Daniela was patient and in complete control as we manuevered through the crazy traffic. The interesting conversations we had in the car made the extended time fly by. The Monkey Island trip was awesome, and we had several memorable experiences with the monkeys. The time at the Miraflores locks was excellent - both the movie as well as watching a ship transport the locks. We highly recommend the trip itself and especially Daniela as your guide.
